Favorite The Office Character(s)? [American Version]

Mine are Dwight and Angela (and of course Michael). Jim and Pam and everyone else are great, but whenever D or A are onscreen, can’t take my eyes off them. Whenever Dwight unleashes his knowing smirk to the camera, comedy gold I say!

Also think Jan Levinson-Gould is hot!

Phyllis!!

Kevin the perfect office creepy guy.

Of the more prominent characters, Jim.

Another guy I like is Darryl the warehouse foreman (you’d think Roy would be the foreman, but it’s him!)

Everyone’s favorite alchie!

Meant Meredith perchance?

Jim. Because I am him.

Dwight is just plain brilliant. I didn’t think the American version could make a character better than Gareth on the BBC’s, but they did.

“I’m the bobble head.”

“Question…”

Kevin, just for his gleeful innocence. Setting the thermostat to 69 just because, or keeping his own name for Secret Santa, jumping over lame fireworks in the parking lot…

First, I’m hooked on this show. Took me a bit, but I find Pam and Tim (okay, whatever, Jim) totally charming, and watching them is a delight. The show isn’t afraid to have some warm personalities in there, and I think that helps round it out. Dwight and Angela are, as has been said, total scene-stealers, and their whole dynamic is perhaps my favorite innovation of the American series (at least, I think it’s new here).

But I have to say Ryan. My favorite moment so far – though I missed half the episodes, sadly – was his delivery on “I hooked up with her…on February thirteenth”. I was rolling. My second favorite: “I know what I said” when Pam took him to task for saying he didn’t see himself ever getting married. My personal feelings about B.J. Novak – what a name – have nothing to do with it. Really. I swear.

No, I think he’s an interesting character with more to him than meets the eye, and a sharp mind behind a fresh face who knows how to take advantage of the fact that people underestimate him. Now there’s a type with enough complexity that most sitcoms would carve him down to a mere imbecile by the second draft – and he’s just one of many interesting, multi-faceted characters on the show. Yeah, I’m hooked.

This show is so well written and acted that I went through almost every character as a possibilty.

I agree Angela is probably the best of the featured characters, but Kevin probably gets me laughing more often.

Creed… He cracks me up.

“Someone making soup?”
