Mine includes:
Westerns
Sitcoms
Action/ Adventure
Drama/Legal Dramas
Classic Cartoons
Sci-fi/comedy, or whatever Futurama falls under.
I’d have to say either drama mostly, with some comedy. I realistically am open to any genre as long as the show is good. So Daniel Boone Fanatic, I agree with you on those genres.
My Genres include:
British Nature shows narrated by David Attenborough
Other BBC Science shows
UK panel shows featuring comedians (Including, but not limited to, QI, Would I Lie To You, Mock The Week, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, 8 Out Of 10 Cats & Ducks Quacks Don’t Echo)
Science Fiction that doesn’t regularly feature Zombies (the occasional Space Zombie episode notwithstanding).
Sitcoms
Animated shows (that may or may not be sitcoms, like Bob’s Burgers, Adventure Time and Steven Universe)
Mysteries
Crime and or medical drama
Westerns
Old sitcoms
Cooking shows
Stuff on PBS about castles, and history and stuff like that.
QI
Crime shows/mysteries
Superhero shows
Science fiction shows
British comedies
Panel shows
Fantasy
Scifi
Supernatural (both the show and those like it)
I love “period mysteries.” Father Brown Mysteries, or Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries, or Murdoch.
I even love Murder in Paradise, because, while the period is contemporary, the setting is wonderfully exotic.
I should be watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., or Gotham, because I’m a superhero comics fan, but I just don’t have the time!
Sci fi and fantasy. Everything else is a distant second, with any kind of romance coming in dead last. Yuck. Stop kissing, you’re mucking up the plot.
SF and fantasy, with the occasional sitcom/humorous game show.
Documentaries. I watch a lot of them, mostly on history and science.
War/service dramas or comedies. There hasn’t been a good one in at least the last 30 years.*
Crime/legal/medical dramas, the darker and grittier the better.
Detective series with notable twists.
Character-driven sitcoms, from both sides of the Atlantic.
Believable science fiction, either anthology or continuing series.
I’ll watch old-timey Westerns like Gunsmoke and The Rifleman, but I really prefer ones closer to the realistic Clint Eastwood type, where everything is filthy and rundown, and people sweat and stink and are clearly scum.
I enjoy watching cooking shows where they actually teach you how to make something. I no longer care about cookoffs involving mystery baskets, cupcakes, or anything else.
I detest so-called reality shows, which are nothing of the sort.
The only superhero I really care about is Batman; again, the darker and more twisted the better.
Trivia-based game shows like Jeopardy!
Old (pre-1968) cartoons and cartoon series.
*I take that back. Foyle’s War is excellent!
Spy/espionage series are always on my viewing schedule too, as are political dramas.
I like historical dramas, so long as the anachronisms are minimal (or not at all apparent). Unfortunately, most actors seem to have no idea how to portray people of a different era.
Blackadder Goes Forth?
Yeah, that one was good too.
So was The Saboteurs.
But I’m hard pressed to think of any others.
