Well, my dog loves banana. Seriously, the bitch (hehe I can say that legit like) loves fruit, and banana is her favourite.
As for drink, stout is her fav. Particularly “Rip Tide” from Brew Dog but that’s cause she’s a Scottish dog. If I kept her down south I could imagine she would prefer a more southern stout. But it’s defininitely stout that keeps her interest. She has tried pretty much every non caffineated drink (no comment on her theiving on the caffienated stuff sometimes :o) and it’s definitely stout she loves.
How about your pets?
(Before I get my anus spread in prison I want to emphasise I’m not putting beer in her water bowl, she’s just licking it off my fingers occasionally, and if anyone wants to claim that’s bad for dogs, then that person is as moronic as the lot from Berkley whinging about third-hand smoke at the moment)
Our recently departed old fat cat loved piping hot popcorn, but it had to be piping hot. And cherios. The shitzhu dog loves pretty much anything, but his favorite is vegatables. He will BITE you to get raw brocoli.
No big surprise, but my cats looooooovvvve tuna. I’ve given them shrimp, crawfish, catfish, salmon, and other fish, and they like it. Chicken is always welcome. Beef is so so. But tuna results in a constant chorus of meows and leg rubbing and purring and anything else they can do to remind you that they’ve always been your bestest friend, remember? Until you set the plates down, then they eat and return to their aloof uncaring ways.
My cat’s favorite food is cat grass. He even has a specific meow just for begging for grass. It sounds like “mama!” Close seconds are all sorts of leafy vegetables including lettuce, strawberry leaves, and bok choy.
Buddy eats nearly everything with equal enthusiasm—apples, bananas, Cheetos, raw meat, cooked meat, dried meat. I don’t believe he has a favorite.
He likes milk and Young’s Chocolate Stout but he seems to FAR prefer toilet water. I can’t keep blue cleaner in the toilet bowl for fear of him sporting a bright blue mustache and then dying in agony.
Buddy is a rat terrier.
My tortie cat Marigold loves cheese, and will beg for it if you have some. She once stole some cheese right out of my stepdaughter’s hand, and will even stoop to eating mac and cheese out of her bowl when she isn’t looking.
Marigold is an omnivore, though, and has also been spotted eating meat, bread, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and other treats. This is all amusing to our other cat, Louie, who will not eat any of the “human food” and glares at her when she does. Louie’s favorite food happens to be…corn husks.
Any time we’re preparing fish, she begs to have some. All she gets is the empty cutting board before it goes in the dishwasher. It takes her around 30 minutes to lick off all the fishy atoms.
My dogs will eat most anything, but the second they hear the vegetable peeler they go apeshit. They LOVE carrot (and potato) peels so I always have to make sure to let a couple of them fly on to the floor or if I’m feeling particularly generous I’ll peel one or two entire carrots right on to the floor.
My cat loves his carbs…his favorite foods are crackers, bread or any kind of cake or cookies (I know ‘they’ say cats cannot taste sweet, but he shows a particular preference for sweets). They only thing he likes better than that is bacon- he will literally use his paws to pry my mouth open and steal the bacon I am chewing! (Well, he did that once…now he gets batted away when there is bacon present.)
The dog is typical. His favorite people foods are peanut butter and meat of any sort (but he also likes cakes, cookies, and sweets which he only gets little bites of on very rare occasions).
My dog LOVES water. He goes nuts when I refill his bowl, even if it wasn’t totally empty. It got to the point I was a little concerned and took him to the vet, they ran a bunch of tests and said he was fine, he just really likes water.
His favorite food is peanut butter. I tend to indulge him quite a bit in this one as I consider it a win-win situation; he gets to eat peanut butter, I get to watch him eat it. Hysterical.
This reminds me of my dog a bit, back when we lived in Guam. He didn’t go crazy for water, but he did for ice water. He got to a point where he would refuse to drink at all until I added some ice cubes to his water dish. I had to break him of that habit, but he still loves ice as a treat and ice water when he has been playing in the heat (which is harder to come by now that we are in Kansas).
Our cat, Annie, would be every mother’s dream: she wants to try everything on my plate. Some things she likes–meat and cheese are always favourites–and some things she doesn’t. Vegetables are not popular, for example. A sandwich involving (say) salami, cheese, and tomato slices creates a dilemma.
She loves to drink the water that red kidney beans are packed in, but dislikes coffee. She’ll take a couple of experimental sniffs of my coffee mug, and back away, with as much of a “yuck” expression as her facial muscles will allow (which isn’t very much at all, but she manages somehow).
Tara T. Cat has several favorite foods. Cereal milk (which she will choose over regular milk), ice cream, cheese, doritos, and pork rinds. I think the pork rinds really driver her wild, and when she hears my husband open a bag she’ll come running from the other side of the apartment. When my sister eats cereal, she patiently waits at her feet for the bowl. She also has learned about cheese sticks and will patiently sit at my feet when she hears me open a package. She’s only got in my face once or twice to get food. Mostly she’s content to wait her turn.
Trilly LOVES shrimp. We will have flavored shrimp, and she’ll be crying and begging for some. She comes up to you and tries to paw the shrimp out of your hand.
She even reconizes when someone takes a bag of shrimp out of the freezer.
She loves ham too.
Spinny likes Cheez Its and any meat off of my dad’s plate.
The other cats don’t really have a specific preference for human food.
They’ll eat it but they dont have a favorite
My boy loves banana and cheese but will do anything for chickenchickenchicken. He also likes baby carrots.
My girl will eat almost anything she’s given, but really is just glad you’re paying attention to her. It’s you’re giving me food, not you’re giving me food.
My Luna loves raw turkey. We learned this shortly after we got her, when we were cooking a turkey breast. She made the most pathetic little wail, and we just had to cut off a little raw turkey for her. She gets a little whenever we cook ground turkey or a turkey breast.
Katya’s favorite is sushi-grade ahi. If we’re making sushi at home, we have to keep the fish covered in foil, or she’ll jump up on the counter and eat it.
