I care about the statistical improbability of us trouncing the NFC North and getting to that game without Favre. In other words, I’d rather get to the game and lose than watch it on TV without my team in it (e.g., Bears and Packers fans). It was an awesome year, all things considered.
Gimme a break. You guys got him for free because he wanted to be a dick to GB. He retired to break his contract with the Jets, screwed them over, and then joined the vikings. The Jets had to trade for him, thus screwing themselves. All trades in the NFL is a matter of give and take to maintain some balance of power between teams. Look what happened to the NBA when the Lakers, Celtics, and Miami piled up the superstars without any compensation to other teams. Minnesota is a team built for the Superbowl, that is true. However, they didn’t get there legitimately nor fairly. They got a Superbowl quarterback for free, and now you can’t complain that he screwed you over royally just like how he screwed the Jets (although at least the Vikings got him for 2 years, the jets only got him for 1.)
I am not a VIking fan and the Favre saga is tiring, but some folks whining about how the Vikings have no respect or look despearate or some other nonsense is total idiocy and irrelevant, especially if he does as is hoped and eexpected.
If I was a VIking fan I would be concerned about that ankle, we all know how tough Favre is, but he is 41 and it just has to catch up at some point. I would put the odds of his consecutive game streak ending this season at about 50/50.
Brad Childress is Brett Farve’s bottom boy and everybody knows it. I’m not a Farve hater at all (my cousin went to high school with him), but geez, this is ridiculous.
I’m glad I didn’t take up a co-workers offer to take a shot every time Farve got choked up during his press conference. I’d be seriously wasted.
I really don’t care one way or another. I’ll go to a game or two, watch the Packers/Vikes games with the family. I just am so tired of the second coming of God.
