FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024

Correct but we had to have more than “Drug dealers commonly keep drugs on their properties” to search. We’d need pc for each individual location. If he was selling out of only one house and we couldn’t tie other locations with something other than “typically” language, we’ never get warrants for the other places. The Feds seemed to have an easier time getting warrants but that was 20 years ago.

Well behind in this thread - but if he is actually guilty of things related to the questions he pleaded the Fifth on, taking a financial hit is likely better than going to jail.

And it is not like he will be taking the actual financial hit-That will be absorbed by the Trumpettes.

Even his base is getting tired of this shit.

I’ve seen bits and pieces of his latest rallys, and it’s a little sad how he, with all the the legal cases pending against him, is still calling her “Crooked Hillary”.

Which is a good thing. The more they’re spending to pay for Donnie Two-scoops’ lawyers, the less they’re spending on candidates, PACs, and questionable propositions.

Projection from the Bell & Howell President? I am shocked.

It’s like seeing a stand-up comedian who was big in the 80s still doing sets mocking Reagan.

Errrr … that WAS Reagan

:drum:

Rimshot!

Just to try to keep this thread moving, the DOJ has issued their response to Trump’s lawyers’ appeal of the partial stay granted by the 11th circuit court to the Supreme Court.

Is there any indication/expectation of when Thomas will issue a ruling?

ETA: Other than, five minutes after Ginni tells him what he thinks?

Re-reading Trump’s appeal to the Supreme court, I have arrived at the following short summary.

The Trump owned judge did what we asked her to. It is unfair the the DOJ went over her head to some judges that were not Trump owned. We are hoping that you are Trump owned and will re-instate the first judges order.

I expect a six word ruling from Thomas, the shortest in Supreme Court history.

Motion Granted. Happy Wife, Happy Life.

Isn’t “going over their heads” pretty much how the whole “judge” thing works with appeals? At least until you hit the ceiling with the Supreme Court (the name kind of gives it away, amiright?)

But… but that’s just supposed to be a delaying tactic until the other side runs out of money and/or lawyers. It’s not fair the feds have deeper pockets than TrumpCo.

Trump directed boxes at Mar-A-Lago be moved after receiving subpoena, his employee says.

FBI has surveillance footage of them doing so.

Interesting.

While he was in office, Trump pardoned Conrad Black, a former Canadian press lord (literally) of obstruction of justice.

Trump said when he pardoned Black:

Black said Trump had called him to say that he would be granted a full pardon, that his conviction was “unjust” and that he “should never been charged”.

Black’s crime? He had been caught on video removing boxes from his office that were likely under subpoena.

Legal experts in 2007 said that the obstruction-of-justice charge had been fairly clear-cut. The government had charged the former chairman of newspaper chain Hollinger International Inc. for removing 13 boxes with documents from his Toronto offices in 2005, and a security camera had caught Black and his driver transferring boxes from his office to the car.

Things that make you go “hmmm”.

Break this down for me as a non-lawyer, because it seems like textbook Obstruction of Justice.

a) Court subpoenas items, stated to be located in a particular spot
b) I tell somebody to move those items from where they are located
c) Said person testifies that I told them to move them
d) The government has video of them being moved

What am I missing here?

The witness has been named.

Gift link:

Just to add, the Trump employee initially denied that he had ever moved any boxes from basement storage to Trump’s residential quarters. He changed his statement after being shown video of him doing the exact thing he had denied doing. I believe that being a serial liar is a job requirement at TrumpCo. I would assume that being not very bright is another quality required in order to fit right in.
