FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024

Was it son-in-law Jared who got that massive payoff from Saudi Arabia? Wouldn’t it be delicious if he and Trump’s adult (agewise) sons also got indicted?

It was. Two billion. And yes, it would!

I’ve had a bottle chilling in the fridge for a while now. Maybe it’s time to break it out.

I wonder if Jack would be within his rights to perpwalk the guy? How sweet would that be? Maybe the second visit of trump’s team to DOJ was working out the terms of his surrender.

I’m basically Lamaze breathing.

As much as it would fill me with Schadenfreudic glee to see them do that, I think it would be a bad move. You don’t want to appear to be grandstanding since that feeds into perception that it was political. Be respectful but efficient. I expect its going to be handled similarly to the New York court appearance.

If they wait a week, they can give him the indictment as a birthday present.

You’re right. A perp walk is not going to happen. Trump will be afforded the dignity of the office he so thoroughly sullied. For the sake of the office, not the man.

Then the appeals begin and nothing will continue to happen.

Most defendants are serving out their sentences while their appeals wend their way through the courts. There’s no reason this won’t also be true for Trump.

The can of bubbly has been chilled along with Ben and jerry’s. The cats have been warned of dancing.

Seriously huge if they have an agreement for a guilty plea with meadows.

I’ve been thinking about (and posting it – elsewhere) this for a long time, now:

The Republican Senate and consigliere, Bill Barr, were Trump’s “Get Out Of Jail Free Card.”

He will quite likely not be so fortunate the next time he is taken to task for his actions.

From the time that Meadows went radio silent and withdrew from cooperation with the January 6th committee, I was pretty certain he was going to be one of the most important cooperating witnesses for both the Mar-A-Lago documents and the January 6th cases. Especially when DOJ declined to issue a contempt citation for Meadows’ refusal to submit to the January 6th Committee’s subpoena. So it’s not a surprise, but I’m glad it’s finally out in the open.

In related news…

I just posted this in the proper thread. Let’s try to keep them straight, please. I know it’s hard, but let’s try.

I do wish I could find more reporting on this from other sources. I checked the NY Times and Boston Globe, but so far nothing. I have no idea how reliable the Independent is on this kind of major American political news. Anyone seen any other sources?

Archaic, yes. Inferior, probably not. I’ve had 2 very old houses, one built in 1929 and the other in 1919. They were very solidly built, more so than modern houses. The 1929 one had a couple superior features for which the construction secrets are a lost (forgotten) art.

Sorry. I also posted it in the 7 Jan 2021 and beyond thread. Also wasn’t the right one.

Thanks for fixing.

No problem. It’s very easy to get these cases mixed up. But for clarity’s sake, I’m hoping as much as possible we can keep track of which actions belong in which case.

Thanks for understanding.
