What’s the world coming to, when the FBI can just willy-nilly investigate crimes like gathering and transmitting confidential defense information? I mean, who do they think they are, anyway? And why are judges allowed to grant search warrants? The whole thing stinks!
FBI Search and Seizure at Trump's Mar-A-Lago Residence, August 8, 2022, Case Dismissed July 15, 2024
I think you’re fine if you just say: “His lawyers were lying.” Pretty much covers it all.
What does this mean?
I don’t know, you tell me:
ETA: That was yesterday, for the record.
Any source other than Breitbart? Not going to give them the click.
This is obvious, but wasn’t right away for me because I can get lost in the details and not even consider such things.
It took the FBI a few hours to locate the documents, identify them, and get them boxed up. Compared to the Trump legal team over the last few months arguing they needed more time to comply with the subpoena to locate and identify the documents and get them boxed up. Obviously BS, but just wanted that point to be clear.
While I’m delighted at the prospect of Trump being charged with espionage, I’m also kind of disappointed that this warrant-serving business seemingly has nothing to do with the J6 investigation, since that will likely impact more GOP scumbags than just Trump and do more damage to the party going forward.
But ultimately whatever lands Trump in Leavenworth is OK by me.
But it’s not as though any other investigation has ended due to this.
One of the charges is obstruction of justice. Who knows what that is all about?
I’ve read that includes the names of the FBI agents involved. I hope they’re safe.
Man, the next few days feel like a race to see who gets arrested first: Saul Goodman or Donald Trump.
I know, but my brain can only handle one Trump-related clusterfuck at a time.
IANAL (if that wasn’t obvious), but isn’t just DA-speak for “all the foot-dragging that made us get this warrant in the first place”?
I really like the sound of this treason thing.
One would think even the most gung-maga of magats would shrink to defend that, but I’m sure they’ll find some way.
This one sounds like it has the potential to be a doozy. Maybe just hang out with this one a while.
They already think Putin is a good guy. Why would they oppose giving him the means to defeat those Nazi Ukrainians?
Trump’s lawyer released a statement that said it was a “botched raid where they seized the President’s picture books.”
Now what could the fbi want with Trump’s collection of Dr. Seuss, Goodnight Moon and The Snowy Day? Those monsters!!
It won’t be treason. Treason is one of the very few constitutionally defined crimes. It requires an adversary. Whatever one might say about Saudi Arabia as a force for bullshit in the world, they are not an enemy of the US.
What Trump is facing is an investigation into espionage. And, thankfully, like treason, this can also result in the death penalty.
It won’t, in his case, practically speaking. But it’s part of the conversation now.
I gotta step back from this story. I’m getting entirely too happy.
I like this line “Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home”
So he’s saying they didn’t have a warrant?
Regarding the coloring books, presumably he has the proof to back that up, right?
