I have been reading the posts here for some time, and I wanted to share my trepidation with the ppl here…where just about any topic goes, and the fear of flames is not so prevalent.
Trepidation about what?
The big Snip.
Yup, Vasectomy.
…With a big “V”.

I have two wonderful little girls, but I just don’t have the mental bandwidth for any more children.
Mrs. Stranger and I had some long discussions, and she actually was going to have her tubes tied…Then we found out how invasive that operation is…and…well, I volunteered to get my ammo-belts de-linked.
V-Day is approaching and I am not looking forward to it.
Any input from You guys that have had Vasectomies would be appreciated.
I had mine 20 years ago, and I understand the operation is even less of a big deal these days.
A local for the pain, which stung a little, a snipping sound (which was actually the worst part, that’s just something you don’t want to hear around your ‘boys’), and I was sore for about a week. I wore a jock, which helped. I was in and out of the doctor’s office in about an hour.
Afterwards, everything was great. No change in anything according to my (now ex) wife. She couldn’t tell any difference (and she had a better view, at least occasionally, than I did). Apparently the actual sperm make up such a small portion of the total ejaculate, that to the naked (hee-hee) eye (and, umm, well, tongue), nothing had changed.
Not having to worry about birth control was great. She didn’t have to take the pill for the next 10 years (divorce stepped in at that point), and sex could be more spontaneous.
I have read-up on the subject pretty extensively and am familiar with all the medical lexicon…but posts like yours are what I am looking for…first hand experiences…
They, (The Doctors), say I could conceivably be back on my feet the next day…but more likely will want to take 48 hours to recuperate.
I am having it done on a Friday and plan to be back at work on the following Monday.

That’s just what I did. No real problems, but I did move a little more carefully for a few days, but I only missed work on that Friday. A couple of pain pills and an ice pack was all I needed.
I only have anecdotal evidence to offer…but I’ve talked to several guys who’ve had it done.
First, USE that ice pack, even if you don’t think you need it.
Don’t move furniture or otherwise strain that area for a minimum of three days, and then ONLY if you really feel up to it.
And consider it permanent, even though you see all those “Vasectomy Reversal!” billboards.
I had a tubal ligation about 20 years ago, and a hysterectomy (uterus AND ovaries) a few months ago, and I have to say that the peace of mind I got from the ligation was worth it.

thx, I will MOST definitely heed your ice pack advice…
I have to physically move my entire server room to a new Office building about ten days after my surgery is scheduled…I just don’t trust moving men to handle my mission critical hardware. I hope ten days is enough healing time!
Democritus-
I did read your response in that previous thread…LOL, and although I am somewhat Ravenous when it comes to sexual appetite, I believe I will wait until at least that following weekend to get some…GRIN DAMN! the next day? Impressive!..Snicker
