February in the MMP

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting and the potluck dish in the crock. Once I’ve caught up on the news and purtified, I’ll go to the city to heathenate.

Morning all. Going through some old stuff I picked up on my travels through life, deciding what to keep and what can be thrown out (do I really need a brochure for the Oynx Mountain Caverns of Missouri?). Still need to get the ladder out and start putting things back on the wall, starting with some clocks so I don’t have to wear my watch around the house.

Since you’re going to “I spy” at Valdosta, swampy, here’s some theme music: "I Spy" TV Intro - YouTube

doggio, may your apartment and sinuses be dry.

FCM, enjoy the day!

All y’all take care.

I’m up just long enough to walk the dog and call the church. I’ve had a bad cold all weekend, and I was supposed to be both a lector and a chalice bearer during church this morning. Especially for the latter I don’t think folks would benefit from my hacking and sneezing.

Wed. it was 64 degrees. At 6:30 AM.

Then a day and a half of thunderstorms. 4.22" total.

Saturday it was 26 at 6:30 AM with an 1+" of snow later.

This morning it’s freezing fog.

Up next: a sandstorm and then a plague of locusts.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. The critters are fed.

Metalmouse, the apartment is (currently) dry, the sinuses are another matter. I coughed so hard, it felt like I dislocated my eyeballs.

ftg, it was like that last week here, too. And it’s supposed to be back in the upper 60s by Wednesday.:dubious:

Grocery store is on the agenda for today. And laundry and cooking and all other household chores. My unpatient is doing very good. He is actually going to the grocery store with me. I shall go to irk tomorrow even though I feel as if I could use one more day off. Caregiving is exhausting.

Care giving is extremely exhausting.
I don’t know how those who do it for a living don’t go crazy from it.

I cleaned the door windows except for the outside of the storm door. My son can do it, as I am not tall enough to reach all the way to the top.

I got the vacuum back together and also cleaned out the rollers.
I think I am going to throw away the old couch cushions. I kept them for the dogs to sleep on but they liked the old squishier ones from the couch better. These are from the love seat, had been re-stuffed, and are firmer. Every now and then the cat sleeps on one of them.
I think they can go.

I debated using I Spy, MetalMouse, but I just don’t like that theme.

I should be up and back to irk, everywhere I look I see dirt.
When my son gets up he’s not going to be happy with all the stuff I want him to do. I can move most of the furniture by myself to vacuum under and behind it, but there are a few pieces I can’t move by myself. He needs to vacuum the stairs too. He always bitches about that job. Can’t say I blame him, but he is younger, stronger, and more agile than I am, so he can do it.

It’s been a good day so far. I fell back to sleep for a couple more hours. I needed it! Then we showered and dressed and headed north. Breakfast was OK and they didn’t charge for refills, plus they had Coke products. Most of the places here seem to favor Pepsi - ick.

After eating, we drove to Delaware, just because. Rehoboth has a short little boardwalk, 0but there are lots of shops on the main drag. We got Roxy a Baby Shark shirt. Southbound again, we stopped and got her a couple of Ocean City shirts. Grandparental duty done!

Back at the hotel, our room had been cleaned and it appeared the youth group was gone! So we suited up and had the pool and the hot tub to ourselves. And now we’re just chillin’ in our room. We’ve been discussing a couple of test fixtures FCD thinks can generate some business. So, yeah, it’s been a good day.

only got 4 hours of sleep since aunt went to see great aunt today … only took them an hour in a half instead of the usual 4 but boy does i feel crappy … this year looks to be the worst year ever so far on sooo many fronts personally …

gah the boards having an extremely shitty day …

OK, people, time to get serious. Are we going to let 2020 be a bad year? *No! *Are we going to grab it by the ears and turn it around? Yes! Nothing’s over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Sorry, wrong movie. Still, I’ve had enough crappy years. I refuse to acquiesce to another one. Who’s with me?

My big plan today is walking to the grocery store. Yes, I do it often. I eat a lot of fresh veggies, and I’m picky to a fault. Last night I dreamed I was at Costco with my now-ex and our DD, who was maybe 5 in the dream. I could not find fresh tomatoes that weren’t wrinkly and spent the entire dream trying to track them down while keeping an eye on my daughter. I was balancing 7 or 8 Costco-sized items in my arms because the now-ex had absconded with the cart.

swampy, hope you have fun. Please tell me what playing I Spy is like. The only version I remember is the “I spy with my little eye” guessing game, and I’m pretty sure that’s not what you’re doing.

Moooom, just curious: are you not a coffee drinker? And I agree with you about Pepsi. So glad you got some quiet.

Baker, I hope your cold disappears pronto.

Butters, caregiver syndrome is a real thing. Hope you can rest and take it easy.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

It’s really, really, really windy here. My mom’s yard is full of tumbleweeds, which all went over a 6 ft fence to get there.
Snow in the mountains, but just wind here. Yoshi was having nothing to do with the wind until Akiko just trotted right out there. Then he followed her around and generally acted like a little brother.
Groceries will be delivered soon, and then we shall watch movies, interspersed with laundry.
Lamb chops for dinner. I’m pressing the kids into service as my sous chefs.

The only way I like coffee is when it becomes Kahlua! I will drink hot tea but I don’t like iced tea. I prefer to get my caffeine the was God intended - from Diet Coke!! :D:D:D

Back from a late lunch/early dinner, and I think we’re in for the night. In the morning, we’ll get up whenever, go for breakfast, then check out and head home. Except for that first night, it’s been a nice weekend. Next vacation will be in May on a ship to Bermuda.

Thanks, nelliebly. I’m still feeling pretty down though. I’ll go to bed early as I need to go to work tomorrow. But I work in food, so I’m worried. I don’t like the new business that has taken over the cafe where I have worked for nineteen years, and they feel like the kind of organization that is not sympaythetic to taking time off. I haven’t called in sick except once, over fifteen years ago. The only time I ever had off that was scheduled was for foot surgery.

Thanks for letting me worry.

I’ve had an afternoon. The lil’wrekker and me played in her cosplay stuff. Per a request to see ol’beck dolled up.
A new toilet is going in the guest bath.
I forgot about cooking. Mr.Wrekker is going after KFC.
Fun day.
Tomorrow is infusion day.
Knock on wood…I’m feeling very good.
**baker **, feel better.

Nellie, I’m taking your advice. No more bad years!! I insist on better health and good-times!
Have a good evening y’all!

Howdy Y’all! Home from my spy adventure in Valdosta. OK, actually been home a little over three hours. I yanked the rest of the ham off the bone when I got home. A ham pot pie shall get made for sup sometime this week, and the ham bone is in da freezer for later use. Futzed with the printer a bit to get it to actually print as well. Also wrote up some notes from today’s adventure as I need to share my ideas and findin’s with my group. The service was nice and upliftin’. ‘Tis a small church but very friendly folk. Us adults got coffee mugs and the girls got teddy bears (a brown one and a white one, now named “Chocolate” and “Velvet”) as welcome gifts. ‘Tis a thing the church does for visitors. Also had a nice N.O.L. afterwards (they do this every Sunday) and spent some time talkin’ with some folks about church and stuff. The buildin’ and grounds are very nice! The church sits on ten acres of land with walkin’ trails, an outdoor Altar (really cool Altar!), a koi pond, a veggie garden, a playground, and a lot of beautiful old cedar trees. We visited and talked for an hour after the service. Genuinely nice folk! Oh and as to spy theme music I am partial to Spy Vs. Spy

{{{CupCakes}}} feel better soonest. Here’s Soft Kitty.

Pics are necessary to validate this…

Dinner was at Outback Steakhouse, their bread is great, steak good, but french fries are only average. If we could combine the best from Outback, Longhorn, and Texas Roadhouse…

More stuff put away and clocks are on the walls. Also bought a box of Girl Scout cookies from a rather adorable elf of a child (Mom-unit was close at hand, but let here do all the dealing).

Moooomm, I have a 6-pack of Diet Coke, which I got for all the contractors that came through here–none apparently wanted it, so need to find it a good home.

Let’s listen to nellie folks; shes pre-Med…

Glad the spying adventure went well, swampy.

Feel better soon, cupcakes.

Nut, glad you didn’t get blown away. You too sunny.

Feel better soon, doggio (it’s no fun abusing sick people).

As for everyone else, assorted hugs/tears/laughs/groans and I’ll catch all y’all on the next MMP.
ETA: Read the Old Wench’s thread on Ruble; will help chase the gloom away.

metal mouse, when I come home from a trip, I tend to scrapbook it. For some of the ephemera, if there’s too much of it, I’ll photograph what I don’t actually use on the page and paperclip the photo behind.

Glad you’re feeling a bit better baker.

Heathenated today, then took Nelson to the dog park. there were pups there of larger breeds that were still small enough for the little dog side, so he got to play with a Jack Russel, an Australian shepherd and a golden doodle who were all around seven months old. The Aussie’s humans got a kick out of their boy playing with Nelson.
