FedX question

I have no problem with amazon delivery people. They are the best. I put the door code in my profile and they ALWAYS bring packages into the building. My code lets the driver in for other people’s deliveries in my building, too. Most of the time the driver will bring the package up to the second floor and leave it in front of my apartment door.

My apartment building has an Amazon Hub Locker that can be used by Amazon, UPS, Fedex and USPS drivers. It’s great because the packages go into lockboxes and I receive the code via email.

It is to laugh.
I ordered a absurdly expensive lens for my new Nikon Z8 from Amazon, and it was supposed to be sent “signature required,” and they just left the box sitting in front of my door.

My dear, Op…@enipla.
You sound like a harried, hurried momma Mongoose.
Relax. One thing is handled.

I have my fingers crossed for you guys.

May things calm down sooner, rather than later.

Do you know how many grizzly bears become porch pirates?

Google tells me it’s more than “zero”.

I didn’t know that. I didn’t mean that as a rhetorical question.

Are you going to tell a bear not to do that?

We are fine, but thanks for the best wishes.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. Talked to my cousin (best friend) this evening, we ended up laughing so hard it scared my dog and he went outside.

Fools and the uncaring get me down for a bit, but I always manage to solve it. We all do.

Black Bears. And different house.

I order some photographer’s colored smoke bombs. They are considered a haz-mat & it’s not the company that requires a signature, it’s actually a gubmint regulation. Nope, they were just left at my door, with me in the house. No knock, no doorbell ring, nuffin’.

/hijack - what lens?

I had to chase down a FedEx truck at least once. I was outside, watching deliveries being made at the other end of the parking lot, then watched him leave. I had my phone with me and checked the delivery status, which was “attempted”.

Hell, no! Fortunately, he had only gone as far as the opposite parking lot for the same complex so I didn’t have to run. I did practically have to stand in front of his truck to keep him from leaving again before he retrieved my package from the back of the truck.

so much for “signature required”?

Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S Lens

Hope to actually get to use it this summer…

Yup, anyone could have scooted off with it.

and yet people complain about post office, which at least is cheaper

Some people don’t get Post Office delivery. I have no bone to pick with them though.

USPS isn’t necessarily cheaper. When I’ve needed to send a package, I’ve sometimes compared the UPS, Fedex and USPS prices and sometime Fedex (particularly the Ground or Home Delivery services) was cheaper.

I have a UPS box in town near my other house. I send/sent everything there. Much, much better than USPS which can leave you standing behind a dozen people.

Make no mistake I really feel for the USPS folks. It’s got to be a rough job, and politicians are trying to make it harder.

If I have to send a package by USPS, I have an account, weigh the box on my kitchen (coffee) scale, and print my own label at home. I take the box to the post office and leave it on the counter with the packages of other smart customers who don’t want to stand in line behind a dozen people.

But if someone ships to your USPS box, instead of the UPS box, you are boned.

Huh??
