I’m having a friend over tomorrow. She just got back from Taiwan (her home country) and we have a lot of catching up to do. I haven’t had a friend over since Thanksgiving of last year. I am making cranberry orange chicken with sauteed green beans and I also made a tasty black bean salsa for snacks (I reward my visitors, see.) My husband is allergic to tomatoes but I am secretly making him a white pineapple salsa. I can’t wait to see the look on his face when I bust it out tomorrow night just for him!
Then we’re going to watch movies and the next morning go shopping together for back-to-school clothes. Lots of things to look forward to this weekend.
I am going back to school in less than a month. I ordered books for 2 classes today and I am SO EXCITED about the stuff we are going to learn! After a year of ‘‘the basics’’ mostly geared toward clinical social workers I am finally going to learn about the job I want to do.
And my internship is gonna rock! I talked to my de-facto supervisor on the telephone today and she said she has prepared computers and workspaces for me and one other intern (yay! A friend!) SQUEE!
I’m looking forward to spending the weekend being lazy at home with the boyfriend and puppies. Gonna play WoW and probably watch Dragonball Z. I cleaned today to make sure I don’t have to do it this weekend.
School starts in less than a month. Health insurance starts even sooner. Yay!!
*Tomorrow is the Charger’s Pre Season Home Opener. Me and about 65 of my friends will go to “CouchGate”: Big Ass TailGating party where we bring old living room furniture to the stadium parking lot. We then BBQ and drink and sing and be merry and kick off the season.
When I got laid off last month, I figured that I would go on a paid vacation (thanks to the two weeks severance pay) that would end when I got a job that I liked better than my current one.
I’ll second this one. I save up my vacation time so that I can enjoy this event. Lots of beautiful girls in exciting costumes. Oh, and there are other things to see there, too.
I’ll be wandering around dressed as Ron Jeremy once again.

Yes. And I got it quickly enough that I didn’t even mess up my savings. By the time I received my last paycheck in the mail I had started my new job.
To be honest, I enjoyed my few weeks of unemployment. It was about the only time since I graduated college where I had enough free time to have a social life during the week.
Originally the plan was to go to Montreal. I really loved it last time.
But we found out that there was a ton of construction being done at that time, plus the Biodome is closed, plus we couldn’t get any good deals on hotels…
The SO has been wanting to go to Toronto for years and years. He is a “plan months ahead” type of guy. I said, “Let’s go to Toronto instead!” And though it bothers his sense of order a lot to change plans at the last(ish) minute, he reallyy wants to go so agreed.
I fully understand the smaller panels. I spend a good bit of my time (when not snapping pictures, or posing with half-dressed women) in the FILK room. With the one and only Leslie Fish being there this year, I expect to spend a lot of my time there.
