Feeling crappy, 'Flu is the pits.

So, it was my birthday on Friday, had a nice party with some friends, got a new dress, everything was looking dandy.
Except I had to leave early because I felt crappy; headache, runny nose, streaming eyes, all of that.

Irishfella had to work Saturday, so I was left alone in the house, hungover and feverish. On Sunday he looked after me, and I started to feel better, was convinced was just a little sniffle, nothing to worry about.

Today, I woke up at 7, fully prepared to go to the ER, where I’m doing a rotation.
Fell over.
This was what first alerted me that things were not stellar with my body, and that the little cold might be something worse.

I have sore joints, sore head, sore throat, a fever, rigours, runny nose and sinus pain. Oh joy- 'Flu.
No patient access for me, although I’m sure the patients will be glad to know I won’t be asking them stupid questions and practising my suturing on them.

And you know who I caught this from? The Registrar! (I think that’s like an attending physician in the states). He’s been off since last Wednesday with 'flu.
Argh!

I have an exam to study for, and was planning to do that this evening, but my brain is so fuzzy it’s taken me about 15 minutes to type this. Another productive day down the pan.

Viruses, who need them?

Sorry to hear your ill!

BTW, if it clears up in time for next week, you’re welcome to head out for food and pints with us all. check NADS* for details.
*not your patients nads of course.

Poor you! Hope you’re feeling better soon.
