Field of Daisies (a Harnic RPG)

I’ve got the torch so I might as well go first , Cella second, Ingmar third, then Brunis, followed my Eran, and Gered bringing up the rear

That way we’ve got protection from the spirits near the front and the scribe surrounded by our fighters.

Sounds good. I’d offer to go before Ingmar, but I think he likes the view.

Very good.

You walk down the tunnel slowly. The footing is fairly treacherous. the path continues to descend, and after about 40 feet, you enter a large irregular room. The floor is completely covered with bat guano. The ceiling is completely covered with bats. There is a little pool in the middle of the room. Off to the left are a bunch of yellow/green mushrooms, about 6 inches tall. At the far left and far right of the room are holes in the wall, just barely big enough for a man to fit through.

Symon searches the pool before turning to the group

“Well, I guess we need to split up though I’m not sure how much longer this torch will burn and that could leave one group stranded. What do you think? I want to stay with Cella either way.”

Ingmar will go look at the Mushrooms, and try to discern if they are edible or poisonous or at best just collect them and put them into his knapsack. He won’t TOUCH the mushrooms though, just use his axe to cut one and place it in the knap sack.

What do they smell like, etc? “Anyone is thinkink I can feed one to a bat, no? Bork bork bork!”

When you say covered with guano, is it slippery? knee deep?

Is there any indication of tracks leading in either direction?

Violet Eye.
“Is the boy Kial down the tunnel to our left?”

Symon, the pool is in a pit, several feet down. It’s black and impenatrable, and has little bits of guano floating in it.

The floor is indeed slippery, but hardly knee deep. Maybe an inch.

If there are any tracks here, you can’t see them. There are a few skid marks, but you can’t tell what made them.

Ingmar, you chop off a mushroom, and it explodes violently. Yellow spores go everywhere. Fortunately, none land on you. They do land on a couple of nearby bats. The bats fall to the floor and start sizzling. Smoke – or steam – is coming off of them.

Ooh, catastrophic spell failure! I’m rolling some great dice tonight.

You got a little confused. You don’t get an answer, but boy, can you ever smell the bat poo more intensely! And you probably will for a while.

You now have three fatigue points and are feeling like you could use a little nap.

On the bright side, you’re the type who can learn from your mistakes. Your casting ability improves by one.

Do the skid marks lead to either of the tunnels?

There seem to be more of them in those areas.

If we’re splitting up, who ended up with the other torch?

"I hope the boy didn’t fall in there but I think we can move on and search the tunnels. The longer we stand around talk the less life this torch has. Lets split into two groups, Cella and Brunis you come with me and Gered, Eren, and Ingmar here is my other torch. There doesn’t seem to be any indication which way is better so we’ll go left. Be careful, and don’t touch any more of those mushrooms.”

Symon lights the second torch from the lit one and hands it to Gered. Looking around to make sure everyone agrees he heads off into the tunnel on the left.

Sounds good.

I’m in.

OK, left group – you are presented with a problem. The passageway is very narrow. One at a time, on your bellies. Doing that with a torch is going to be hard, because it’s going to be dark wherever the torch isn’t. And it’s going to be hard to crawl with it.

Brunis, you’ll never fit if you’re wearing your armor. It’ll need to come off.

It’s only a halfhelm and a mail shirt. The mail is too thick?

Gered will lead the other group down the right tunnel.

At 5’8" and 168 pounds, every bit helps.
