Hm. Well, there are reportedly no good bangers’n’mash in Bellingham. This might be my last chance to get them! And there are good fish’n’chips in Fairhaven. On the other hand, they sell the bangers in the store next door. I can always take some with me. Decisions, decisions!
In other news: I’ve tendered my 30-day notice for the apartment, dropped liability insurance on my Willys, signed up for COBRA benefits, stacked my first trip-load in the living room in “U-Haul 5’x8’ trailer shape”, bought lottery tickets, and I’ve contacted a business in Seattle (a former customer at my last job) who was trying to get ahold of me so that I could send them a résumé for a position they have open.
Good for you Johnny! Hey - a question - are you going to be coming back down soon after your trip up? You don’t just HAPPEN to have to make two trips, do you?
I might have something to come down this way, and I’d be happy to toss a couple of bucks your way for the passage down.
What we need to do is to get a Washington Doper to drive down for the party. Then s/he can haul the motorcycles up for me.
Incidentally, BurnMeUp, I didn’t get the job in Seattle. They needed someone immediately, so they offered it to someone else. I went in anyway to visit my old contact there and to meet the VP. (I was already wearing my interview suit when they called.) They would like to find some way of using me in the company, and they also gave me a couple of leads in B’ham.
I’d like to offer some Member Name adjustments here. After all, you can hardly be known as ** Johnny L.A.** if you’re living way the heck up there. So, let’s all be supportive and see what we can come up with?
'Preciate that, BurnMeUp. I’m willing to come south. I figure I can find a studio apartment somewhere close to a job, and use the house on weekends. Know anyone who’s hiring around Everett?
Johnny, let me add my $.02 here to say best o’ luck on the move, and here’s hoping you get 3-4 great job offers to pick from! Sorry I can’t make the the party at Ye Olde Kinge’s Heade, but the commute is a bit long, seeing as I’d have to start, oh, about 2 days ago to drive there in time.
And I see on Mapquest that Birch Bay is just a short hop from the border! You’ll be able to go get some decent beer, at least!
Oh crap! I’m not going to be able to come tomorrow to see Johnny L.A. off (that sounds dirty somehow). I’ve got too much going on and I don’t love Johnny that much.
Perhaps, when I next visit relatives in Washington state, we can meet up at a PNW Dopefest.
'Till then…happy trails Johnny.
Well, I’m bummed! After all the worrying about people with the fires burning up SoCal, I’m so ready to see everyone. Speaking of everyone, where is Esprix? He hasn’t said a word here.
