In a morbidly amusing way, it’s fun to watch “establishment” GOP types and hard right pundits falling over themselves to blame Republican candidate infighting and failure to target Trump for his success.
Anything but facing the truth that he appeals to a big chunk of the party faithful, who cannot be lambasted for being morons without risking one’s seat in Congress or media ratings.
Assuming it’s Trump vs. Hillary, I’m not seeing the honorable side. Could actually be a great year for a 3rd party ticket.

As I have seen by the evidence so far, the idea that Hillary is dishonorable is mostly based on typical pumped up accusations that have very little basis on reality. That idea of the “bad” Hillary BTW is coming also from the same guys that made Trump possible.
And the stories about Hillary will increase to justify voting for the diseased yak because, make no mistake about it, they will vote for him if he is the frontrunner, guaranteed.

Speaking of that, our “Einstein” poster also missed that many of our conservatives in the SDMB are on the record telling us that indeed Trump is a diseased yak. That they will vote or carry water for Trump in the general election remains to be seen. I will be disappointed if they go back on what they reported about Trump before, but we have a lot of choice quotes from them on the ready if they decide to carry water for him.

This doesn’t seem to be a particularly fact-based thread, butTrump didn’t outperform his polling by 15%, he outperformed it by about 5%, which is within the margin of error of the polls. (I’m averaging the results of the two polls conducted earlier this month and tossing out the ones from last year).
Not sure what the OP is thinking… he did overperform by 15% if you cherrypick his worst poll, which took place last year, and ignore all the others. But I suspect the OP simply doesn’t know the difference between national and state polls. Maybe he can work on that once he figures out the whole ass/hole in ground thing.

And I think that Trump has a long history of being being left of center on a lot of issue. Then he saw Michael Bloomberg become Mayor of NYC by running as a Republican and Trump shortly had an epiphany on all sorts of conservative issues.
So I am voting for Hillary but it does not help her case when she refuses to release the transcripts of her paid speeches. Her response to CNN on last night’s town hall was shockingly bad. After being told that Bernie would be releasing the transcripts of his paid speeches, would she agree to release her transcripts. She responded by saying that she would only do it if all the Republican candidates did it too. Then she claimed that she was being picked on because people were holding her to a different standard by demanded her speeches but not Republican speeches.
I have shocking news for her: if elected, Democrats are going to expect her to do many things that they wouldn’t expect a Republican to do.

I am not naive as to what a president can do once in office, or how hard it is for him to fulfill campaign promises. I don’t care about that.
