Actually, an ice cream stand here in Columbus, Scream, (in the North Market) has had a beer flavored ice cream for a few years. Pretty good, too. This place also has a chocolate chili, French buttercream, something coriander, and my favorite, Zucker Daddy (burnt sugar)>

I was once served jalepano-cantaloupe sorbet. I was surprised to find that it was very good. I have not seen it offered again though.

As you may have figured out if you left during lunch today, Scream is no longer in the North Market. I wish I knew where they ended up relocating to, because I LOVED that place. 
As for beer-flavored ice cream–well, I used to have a recipe for Guiness milkshakes that I’d show to my beer-drinking friends if they did something to deserve such punishment. I didn’t even have to make it–just showing them the recipe was enough to induce nausea.
You got me sad now, Drain Bead. I hadn’t been to the North Market since before the New Year, so I didn’t know it was gone. I’ll try to track it down and will post the new location here, if I find it.

There is a restaurant in Santa Fe that
makes their own beer ice cream from their brewery beer.
It’s supposedly made from a darker beer and have a somewhat chocalaty taste.
They only serve it in the summer.
