Finding IRL people on the SDMB

 You *can *see me!

Dooku is now Morbo.

I wondered this too.

I’ve seen a couple of others from the same city, but I’m still new, so haven’t gathered much about their lives to make any connection.

However, I do think that a couple of members of other sites that I belong too may be members here, and know I’m here, but they haven’t revealed themselves yet.

Damn, his name change thread has more posts than mine. Go peasants! Shower me with more attention!

Would it help if I became Darth bbs2k?

Darryl Lict and I worked for the same company here in town for several years. We almost certainly knew each other but we never did formally exchange names to find out.

I’ve posted this one before.

I was taking Japanese at my local community college and we had a “field trip” class at at local sushi restaurant (which was interesting 'cause the teacher wanted the waitress to only speak Japanese to us but our Japanese was soooooo bad it was embarassing). Anyway, one of the students asked the teacher about bringing one’s personal set of chopsticks to a restaurant and there had just been a thread on that very subject on the Dope a couple of days prior.

Sure enough, that student and her mom were both Dopers. Sadly, I no longer remember their screen names (I dont’ recall either one being particularly active posters) although the student’s name was “Angela-san” in class.

I think my first DopeFest was at Anthony’s Fish Grotto at Universal Studios. There were some Fathomites there too. As I walked toward the small group, I recognised someone I used to work with a few years previously. Cowboy Greg and I knew each other before we joined, and we ran into each other at a DopeFest.

I’ve always wondered about it, and there have even been a few suspicions, but nothing ever came of it.

I know there are other people that are from the Youngstown, Ohio area that post here, but I don’t think I know them in real life.

It was a fish place, but it did not have “Grotto” in the name, and I don’t think it was called Anthony’s, either. Whatever it was, it’s not there any more – I just checked – and now I’m going to be climbing a wall until I remember the name!

At any rate, I do remember that you’d known someone already! Though I’d forgotten it was Cowboy Greg.

Not quite the same thing, but I went on a tour of the Winchester Mystery House at the end of Dec. 2005. I found out in a later picture thread that our docent was the engaging and knowledgeable Largo62. One of the best historical tours I have ever had, and naturally delivered by a Doper!

Nobody knows this is a complete myth better than I do. In fact, I once wore my dad’s glasses all day without any ill effects.

I’ve got a nasty suspicion that I went to the same school you, Rilch and Ninja attended.
Hmm… how to check?
Naptown or FantaSe?

FantaSe, me. 1988-90; I was disenabled.

I suppose I don’t know you two, then, although I’m somewhat shocked that there aren’t more Johnnies on the Dope.

I went to school on the water, '00-'04. Haven’t yet gotten around to finishing the Sr. essay, though.

Get off the walls!

I’ve remembered. Gladstone’s 4 Fish.

Thank you!

Diomedes, you’d think that, but if my memory of SJC is accurate, SDMB is too structured for them, man.

Maybe someone will register as Rubber Johnny.

And with more than one Jhonen Vasquez inspired user here, I’m a little surprised no one has registered as JTHM or Johnny The Homicidal Maniac.

Or Johnny Seven. (Or Johnny 5, for that matter.)

Oh, and 88-92 for me, western campus all the way. And finish that essay, Diomedes. Just complete these sentences: The book I read was … The part I liked best about this book was… The part I liked least about the book was… The clever insight I pulled out of my belly button while drunk was… Oh, and there might be a God. His possible existence is revealed through geometry and in Aristotle’s Poetics. And Shakespeare is way cool. I skimmed the Bible. The End. And throw yourself on the mercy of Mr. Pihas.

Tabby

And, Diomedes, I can direct you towards an essaysmith extraordinaire in North Carolina, if you’d like.

I’ve emailed you. You’re awesome.
