Being in your 50s is hardly too old to attend a Dopefest. Just ask Lord Jim. 
She isn’t all that new to the internet at all. Her website is filled with roses and doves, all pink and sappy. The epitome of glurge. She capitalizes every other word, and the spelling is atrocious. Something that looks, sounds and even almost smells like a twelve year old girl concocted it.
She knows what plagiarism is. She’s old enough to know better, but probably doesn’t have an original thought in her head.
I thought maybe she’d tried to wise up, but I think she’s really not going to work out here. Anybody that old and acting like such a juvenile needs some other sandbox to play in.
Upon preview I realized this is not the Pit, and while I stand by my statements, if they are considered too “mean” for MPSIMS, I will consider myself warned.
Maureen: Where in CA are you? SoCal Dopefests happen about four times a year, and I see BADFests (Bay Area Dopers) with some frequency.
That’s right, Ringo. I’ve been to quite a number of them after being in my 50s and had the pleasure of meeting well over 100 new and exciting people as a result.

Isn’t it also a dating site? Maybe that explains her hang-up with age differences (especially at such an adult-ness!); she thought that Dopefests were strictly ‘adult-themed’ (going on a WAG; I’ve never been to one).
Deep down, way past the amusement and rubbernecking, I feel for her. I hope she may look at things in a new way soon.
Not to pile on the banned, but this struck me as particularly funny. I’m two years older than she is and I have no problem going to dopefests. (Lots of problems getting to dopefests, but no problems going.) There were even people there who were young enough to be college students! gasp (As well as some younger doperkids.)
I looked at her website too and was amused to see in all caps and big red letters that if you break a rule more than once, you will be banned.
I even gave her the benefit of the doubt. 
As to her most recent post, :rolleyes: ad infinitum, she’ll post Martin Ladyrose King, Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech within a week.
We won’t have to worry anymore. Coldfire helped her out of her indecisivness (see the [URL=http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=203421]last post in her last thread[/URL).
