It must be nice to have such a vast, ride-ranging, comprehensive knowledge of ALL companies and types of services, such that no company can ever tell you about a new product or new service that might be useful to you, because you already know about it.
Is there a subscription service that lets you know what’s coming out on the market? Or do you have some sort of psychic ability that informs you of this? I’m deeply interested in knowing how you learn about EVERYTHING, and thus have no need for a company to voluntarily inform you of how they might be able to meet one of your needs or desires.
There is, I’ll stop by your house and call you on the phone a few times a day over the next few weeks to see if you’d like to sign up for it. I expect you’ll pick up the phone or answer the door and politely listen to what I have to say about it each and every time. No getting fed up after the 100th call and not answering or eventually slamming the door in my face when you see I’m the one ringing the bell. Also, I won’t take no for an answer. Come to think of it, saying yes and signing up for my service won’t stop, or even slow down, my constant calls and visits to your house.
I’m not sure how I learn about new products, but it’s not from phone calls, door to door solicitors, or internet ads. I’ve managed quite well without ever buying a product from any of these sources.
Huh, what was Donald Trump doing 12 years ago? Sounds a lot like him. Misspellings, miscellaneous capitalized words, gratuitous insults, grandiosity…it’s the whole package!
There is; it is called “the Internet”, and by dint of technomagical wizardry combined with forums of expert (or often otherwise) knowledge and the ability to research any product or service imaginable, I can gain enough basic knowledge to seek out specific product knowledge or expertise from providers.
I have zero need for self-serving shills trying to “voluntarily inform [me] of how they might be able to meet one of your needs or desires,” of which they have no knowledge or interests beyond their own, nor any interest in their various attempts to pressure or mesmerize me into buying their shitty, cheaply made products that they can’t otherwise distribute or sell through normal channels.
How could he have heard about it? No telemarketer has called him up and given him an entire spiel on how he should join CompuServe or America Online. There is literally no way for him to know about it.
It’s gratifying so far that we’ve had few unsolicited visits from people offering dubious lawn/yard cleanup services and none from home improvement scammers.
There was a guy who wanted permission to go down to our pond to collect turtles. He didn’t get it.
I had someone at my house a few summers back offering to paint my house…my house with aluminum siding. Granted, the eves do need to be repainted. In any case he pointed over to my neighbor’s house and said he’s having his done and wanted to see if I wanted to have my done as well. I replied ‘him? He does all his own work around the house and painted it himself just last summer’ and closed the door. Someone said I should have told him I’d love to get my house painted as well and ask him to stop back after he does the neighbor’s house so I can see how he does.
Fuck off troll. When I want a service I do the research. An unsolicited dirtbag calling me or ringing my bell is the worst way to learn about a product or service.
I know how to do the research. Which strangely enough includes using valuable tools like Google, The Straight Dope, other boards, Consumer Reports and other quality review sites.
I don’t know who you are, but your post is a fucking joke. So mind-blowingly stupid that I am guessing you work as a scumbag sack of manure.
I’ve also owned cars since I was 17 and I get this crap all the time. Both in the regular mail and the phone (landline). I even get the calls on my new iPhone (with a new number).
