Firefox - Bookmark menu disappeared; Avira Umbrella suspected = Speedy response requested

Avira has been giving trouble the last few days - finally deleted enough that it no longers switches tabs to inform me a script has stopped (no, telling it “do not ask again” is useless).

Now suddenly, the bookmark icon on the header is gone; the Avira Umbrella is there instead.

Any ideas as to how to get my bookmarks back?

Fast would be nine on this one.

Well, I got new toolbar with the usual “File Edit View” et al - not what I wanted, but Bookmarks is included - how I stumbled onto it I don’t know, nor do I know wat happened to the Bookmark icon to the right of the “home” icon.

You can right-click on the toolbar and select “Customize…”. That opens a dialog that lets you drag things onto (and off of ) the toolbar.

That got it back - thanks!

(embarrassed to admit I’ve been using computers since 1976)

Of course, I now have a little blue 5-pointed star next to the clipboard…

That’s just how it works now. The star will let you instantly bookmark a page. Click it again to customize where it goes.
