First TV show to be cancelled after 9/25/2014

Here’s some kindling to keep the fire burning : The 5 Worst New TV Shows This Fall – anybody want to argue against any of these?

I have this feeling that Dylan McDermottis like the kiss of death, so I would lean hard on his show getting a quick ax. Couple that with CBS’s usual success rate for new shows and you have a real dilemma!

I can offer no input on any of these shows. I am not attracted to any of them.

Something tells me Fox’s Mulaney ends up going first (it premieres this Sunday). With Brooklyn Nine-Nine getting terrible ratings compared to the shows before and after it, I think Fox will realize that the only live action that people want to watch on Fox on Sundays is the NFL, so Fox does some schedule shuffling before November.

Red Band Society (it’s not “The Red Band Society” any more than it’s “The Family Guy”) will probably pull an Alcatraz / The Mob Doctor / Terra Nova and finish its 13-episode run. They can’t dump it to Saturdays as Fox airs college football on Saturday through early December.

Fucking copycats! Which new fall show will be canceled first? :frowning:

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is getting bad ratings? That’s a great show! It’s light, but fun and clever.

wrong thread.

He sure is for my enjoyment of anything he’s been in: he’s one of my least-favorite actors. I did watch the first season of American Horror Story with hopes he would die. Anyone know if he dies in that movie where he’s locked in a freezer?

Oh come on. It’s not as if Shonda Rhimes’ shows last forever despite poor ratings. They last forever because they get great ratings.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine christened its new time slot with 5.5 million viewers and a best-since-series premiere 2.6 rating, up from both its March finale (2.6 mil/1.3)

Lord almighty, I could not get through How to Get Away With Murder (just saw it). It doesn’t help that I went through law school and that was so utterly absurd and ridiculous that I couldn’t possibly suspend the disbelief far enough. Every part of the plot was just… no. Maybe if I was a doctor, I could deal with it… but its too much for this lawyer (and I enjoyed Ally McBeal and Boston Legal to indicate how bad the law was here). But it’s going to last at least through the season.

The 2nd episode of Black-ish was lame. I really liked the first one and thought maybe they’d explore race with humor. This was just a generic family comedy episode - about the sex talk. If it continues on this path, it may be gone before I thought.

Red Band Society is actually an American remake of a successful Spanish language program.

You mean it’s not a show about risque movie trailers? Damn.

I only saw the pilot and they briefly had a female doctor but Octavia is not it. She played the sassy gruff black nurse with a hidden heart of gold. A completely unique character never seen before.

I thought it was Nell Carter.

Even better, you can leave the sound on because he’s not using his horrible American accent.

‘‘FX has ordered 10 episodes of the sitcom and, if the series does well over its first 10-episode run, the network will order an additional 90 episodes.’’

Judging from the few episodes I’ve watched, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Fixed link.

Not exactly a cancel, but Fox has removed Utopia from its Tuesday timeslot. In effect, it is swapping Utopia with Masterchef Junior, which was going to air on Fridays, with Utopia being Tuesdays only.

Until Masterchef Junior starts on 11/4, Fox will air the Tuesday slot with a repeat of the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover, repeats of The Simpsons & Bob’s Burgers, and World Series games 1 and 6.

Thanks CZ.

Not sure what happened there…

Any URL that ends in punctuation or parentheses needs to be put inside URL tags, or the parser will (quite reasonably) assume the punctuation or parentheses were part of the post, not the URL.

I read that Fox has an out with Utopia to recoup some money if they air at least 20 episodes. So look for Utopia to last exactly 20 episodes.
