It’s got Fluffy in it, so I’m giving it a chance.
Once its cancelled, he’ll eat to soothe himself and become “DAMN!”
At the upfronts ABC previewed that, Black’ish, and there’s even one about an Asian family coming out mid-season I think. They’re really trying to get ALL of the demograpics under their tent.
Black-ish is good though, and just got picked up for a full season. The other two don’t look promising though.
I haven’t watched Black-ish, but the commercials actually make it look like it could potentially be funny, and that’s it’s made in a modern sort of way. Cristela just looks like something that could have run on the WB for half a season.
The actress who plays the title character in Jane the Virgin was on Letterman the other night. Egad, she was a complete airhead. She was all over the place, mentally.
That and the premise suggests a short run for the show. (It starts the 13th if you want to MST3K it.)
Yeah, this one has “Huh??” written all over it. Here’s the premise of this comedy/drama:
Is this where ‘suspension of disbelief’ comes in?
Jane the Virgin is a remake of a popular Venezuelan telenovela, Juana la Virgen, which explains the crazy premise. They are hoping for the next Ugly Betty.
I looked up the original on Wikipedia and learned that (surprisingly) the complete series aired between March 2002 and October 2002. The number of episodes? 153! It makes the US television industry look positively British by comparison.
It’s a soap opera. I would assume that American soap operas also aired roughly 150 episodes between March and October of 2002.
CBS has cancelled “Unforgettable” and “Reckless”, whatever those were.
Unforgettable, like Dallas, was in its third season, so it’s out of the running; this is actually the second time Unforgettable has been canceled. Reckless was a summer series, so I think that one’s out too.
You’d think I would’ve remembered that.
I’m so glad Unforgettable was cancelled. I could maybe buy the premise that she had a perfect memory that she could rewind on demand…but there is no way in hell her eyes couldfocus on every single thing she ever saw at the same time.
Out of sheer boredom, I watched this on the network website. It’s crap. Stolen jokes, stale stereotypes, bad acting, bad writing, totally predictable, utter crap. Don’t waste your time.
And Variety says it was the highest rated show on Friday night. Go figure.
He tripped. Oops.
For some reason I thought that Unforgettable had been cancelled already and they were just airing the episodes already in the can.
As mentioned, this is its second cancellation. After the first season, it was canceled despite doing quite well in the Good Wife time slot as a summer replacement. Then CBS discovered that the other stuff they had was worse so they brought it back.
But the show made some changes. New secondary cast members, new crime unit setting, etc. It wasn’t the same. Story threads just … went missing. What about the Fed Carrie was dating?
The writing for most of the third season was particularly bad. The two leads are at some major event, the murder of the week happens right there! Then recycle it in more episodes.
I hate that kind of stuff.
The current cancellation was announced on Oct. 10th. They did air two episodes on the last Sunday night before the return of* The Good Wife*.
Watched a second episode of Bad Judge. Yeah, this is dead meat. Told Mrs. FtG the van was going to explode. Then on cue …
I see where, last night, Fox aired a new episode of THE SIMPSONS as the lead-in for a new episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, because of course they did.
I see where that was followed by a last-season FAMILY GUY rerun as the lead-in for a new episode of MULANEY, because – wait, does that mean what I think it means?
yeah, pretty much.
Sorry, missed that. It lost me in the first season. Just too much disbelief to suspend.
