Foghorns 'R' Us, a navigational MMP

Yikes. That ladder would not happen for me. Wow.
Afternoon, everyone.

(Counting on swampy’s birthday being the 29th so I don’t have to sing today).

Would you have preferred an intermittent fault?

Seriously though, don’t you just love being faced with something big and complicated not working, and you get to find a dramatic and obvious fault like a charred rat across the mains inside a power supply, or a cable that turned into a garden hose? And you get to say “Well, there’s your problem!”

Happy B’day (early or not!) swampy

Caprese salad is eted for dinner withe last of the toms & mozzarella from the weekend but I am still a tad hungry…

:wanders off to find something yummy:

What gt said, but thanks for the b’day wishes y’all!

And yep, BBBobbio’s bday is Firday.

taxi I was given an early bday partay on Sattidy. Much fun was had. I learned of the pure heavenly joy of grilled okra.

I worked four hours today, then came home and had pool time for a couple of hours. Now I’m all showered and cleaned up cause I’m bein’ taken to dindin at the good local Eyetalian place. MMMMMMMMM!!!

Yays, boos, hugs, noogies, woohoos, wedgies, trouts, chitlins, how you doin’s distributed as needed.

Oh. Well, then. Ahem.

Nevermind.

I’m a retard. It’s on my calendar for Wednesday. So I’ll have to sing to you again!

Bleh. This has been one of those days at work that involve no work and much internet. Which is incredibly boring. I wanna go home.

Cool photos, Vundy! Boston is on my list of places to visit… which lately seems to be doing entirely too much growing and not nearly enough shrinking. :stuck_out_tongue: I love me some lighthouses, so now that I know Boston has such a cool one, it’s just moved up a few spots on The List.

Finally done with my meetings for today (which seem to involve far too much talking, and not nearly enough doing… ugh). We’ve got ourselves a brief respite for the neverending monsoon of the past few days, so I’m going to take advantage of it and walk home. Hurray!

Hugs and kisses for all… and a few extra for the UnBirthday Bear.

ETA: taxi, I’ll trade you! I don’t even get internet during my meetings, since I’m up on the projector for everyone to see.

The pictures I missed:

The Historical Landmark plaque.

The lantern mechanism.

The museum of old fashioned lighthouse gadgets. The cannon is the original foghorn, and can still be fired.

Extra hugs and kisses from Muppet! WOOHOO!!!

BBBobbio I like the idea of firin’ off a weapon to warn of danger. They should still use the cannon.

Dindin was teh num! I had chicken parmesan and ol’ y’all know who had lasagna. There’s always waaaaaaaaay to much food, so we shared with each other and each of us has leftovers for lunch tomorrow to boot. I’s stuffded!

Y’all can all sing to me again Wednesday. I won’t mind.

I knew that Swampy’s b-day is Weds because he never lets me forget when it is… :stuck_out_tongue:

I am not pleased with my team lead - he scheduled a meeting from 1-3 (I’m usually gone by 2:30) with no real agenda. He said I didn’t have to show up till 2, and I ended up sitting from 2 till 3:20. My part of the project was never addressed. Most of the time I was there, he was discussing with another guy what their final product would look like. That was productive…

So I was an hour later than I wanted to be getting home, meaning I had to rush around to get dinner ready. But it was a good dinner. Steamed Amish corn on the cob and burgers on the grill. I also got an Amish canteloup, but it’s not quite ready for comsumption yet.

**Bobbio **- very cool pics. I never knew what a foghorn looked like. Now I do!

Nephew leaves tomorrow - he flies out of BWI at 4:55, which means daughter won’t be home till after 7 - almost the same time nephew gets to Orlando. Poor kid…

Time to assume the knitting position.

I picked up my car from being worked on and now I have a monster headache. It was a very bizarre scene which I’ll have to describe once my head quits hurting.

Hippo Birdies two ewes, swampbear
I’ve come to the conclusion that humid weather is most definitely not to my liking

Great pics, BBBobbio. Did you have to climb down to the launch, or wait till the tide refloated it?

Speaking of cellphones, I’m getting a new AT&T smartphone tomorrow(ow! ow! ow! It’s not an iPhone, swampy, stop hitting me!) It’s a Nokia e71x. It’s got Teh IntarWeb, so now what happens in Vegas, [del]stays in Vegas[/del] gets posted in the MMP.:smiley:

rosie, I hate humidity, too.

Hope you head is beter now, Pie.

FCM, your boss is an idiot.

17 days, mmmmmmm!

Nava, I miss the black spoiler code, too. :frowning:

Cool pics, **Bobbio! ** My daughter is a huge fan of lighthouses.

It is 99 degrees here. Yes, you read that right; 99 degrees. It’s supposed to get hotter by Wednesday. This is intolerable for us Pacific Northwesterners! I’ve got no appetite and no energy.

My first day back at work was meh. Three to go and then I’m on vacation!

Aww, sorry for the sucky day, Muppet, hugs to you. And I’m with both Rosie and Doggio - I abhor humidity! LOL I guess this mild summer has spoiled me badly, because it wasn’t too bad out today but I could barely stand it! chuckles Is it 17 days now, Mmmmms?! Hugs for you too, until hubby can take over!

Okay, one down, four to go … And a reminder about Wednesday being the birth day of Swampy!

If you think we’re going to do this again on Wednesday for you, SwampThing, you are sadly mistaken… happy friggin’ bday already! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey you guys!!! I got the job! I start on Sept. 2–3 days/week at the library. We are negotiating salary at this point.

I am not sure what to do re my nursing job. I need to do some serious thinking. But for tonight, I’m just enjoying the prospect of having health insurance again soon.

Go rigsy! go rigsy! ::flings confetti in the air::

Congrats rigs! That is great news!

I went outside to soak my plants but good, because no one watered them while I was away. It was soooo damn hot out, I turned the sprayer on myself and soaked myself from my thighs down (I’m in shorts and a tank top). I was dry in less than a minute.

I don’t dooooo hot!

I do that too, Taters! I get my head wet, though. I’ll be washing the dog, or watering the plants - whoosh! Water on the head feels so good!

We celebrated ReboSon’s birthday without him. We had chicken fried steak and smashed NOT. Poor baby had to work. I called him up and sang Happy Birthday over the phone.

Gotta go surf a bit, then get to bed…

G’night!
