When VunderKind was about 3, my FiL muttered something about going to a titty bar to VKind, who then replied, “Yeah! And we can get ice cream!”
We remind him of that whenever we want to see my kid squirm…
Yeah, I know. I tend to misread things like that quite frequently. I guess my brain has a sense of humor.
I took a nap and it was quite nice actually. 
I’m home. 3 days till vacation. Stormy, but the zoo is walked. I’m nomming on steak, broccoli, and Bacon Salt rice.

BBBobbio, it think it is tomorrow, I’m just out of it from working so much.
Woot! I am on vacation!!! Wah and hooooooo! I’m not happy about it or anything ;).
It is 100 degree outside right now. Too hot to eat, too hot to spend any real time out there. In a bit, I’ll have to take my son to driver’s ed.
So, I didn’t get the promotion. It’s okay, because the person the boss wants to hire really has outstanding credentials and can bring what we need to the office. I think he thought I would be upset, but I assured him that I was glad he chose someone like that. He did tell me I would have been the obvious choice if I had another more seasoning with BCAs and business planning. I am actually kind of relieved. This person has to accept the job, if they don’t, I don’t know who he’ll choose.
That’s all I’ve got for now.
I am jealous of Taters. In fact, I don’t think I’ll speak to her idle, vacationing self. 
I just finished a toasted almond with a little extra kick. I think I’ll just mosey back to bed. I’m thinking of taking off early tomorrow, but I don’t know for sure. We’ll see when I get in.
Woozy is setting in - I think it’s time I hit the sheets. Laterz…

Hopefully it will be treatable (and they won’t have to spin you around in circles, blindfolded :eek: thanks Swampy ;)). Sleepy time thoughts being sent to FCM - wish I could take a half day tomorrow too. LOL
What a strange day at work today - it actually went by pretty quickly (is that possible?!), but all the Internet apps were completely bogged down. Guess that’s not -too- surprising; tomorrow is the last day to enter reqs for hardware purchases for this fiscal year and naturally everyone waits until the last day … I got a small piece of one req put into the system, then it started taking 15 minutes to load a page! Oh well!! Then my boss asked me if I was coming in tomorrow … I was so tempted to say “No!” but couldn’t. I’ll be in, and probably very busy.
At least it will be FIRDAY!

I think we got your summer down here, BooFae, sorry. I’d be happy to send you some 5ºC up there but the Post Office says I need to use the right kind of packaging.
You’d need to send it recorded delivery to make sure it got to me and didn’t end up on someone else’s doorstep. Then you’d need to make sure it was properly packaged, wasn’t in the wrong sort of box, had enough bubblewrap and was properly addressed down to the fancy postcode.
On second thoughts, perhaps you should make the most of the heat before you have to spend the winter in Embra!

Got my new smartphone yesterday, just as my old one pooped out. Haven’t been able to activate it because apparently [del]swampy wanted me to use the call center[/del] AT&T is having some kind of problem with online activations. I missed getting through to the call center last night by 2 minutes. Just spoke to the call center and my phone works now. Yay! Have to say the rep I spoke to was REALLY professional and efficient, so swampy can relay kudos to whichever call center supports my region. New phone is gonna take quite a bit of adjusting to, though. It’s a Blackberry. My old phone had a touch screen, so I keep trying to push buttons instead of using the trackball. But it’s purty and it works, so there’s that.
Went to bed a bit early last night. Feel better now.
Gotta get to work…

I was a naughty girl last night and played out til waaaaaaay past my bedtime with a old friend who was in town over night before she headed to the South of France on vacation.
1AM is way to late for a school night. I’s tahred today. Happy B’day again (I think) VBob
I leave for Germany on Sunday for a work trip in the ealry week then off to Romania at the end of the week. So tomorrow will be lazy other than packing. Everyone in the office is glad as I am driving them all insane with my vacation/hubby time countdown.
