Food amnesty hypothetical

This would be my pick of more general categories are allowed. If I had to choose between French fries, mashed potatoes, potato chips, etc. the choice would be more difficult.

Tomatoes.

Not because I like tomatoes, but because as it stands now I’m deathly allergic to them and I would like to change that so I don’t have to be so damned paranoid about what I eat. I’d like to render tomatoes harmless to me not so that I could consume vast amounts of them but that I need no longer worry that microscopic amounts could kill me.

I am torn between ice cream and the In-N-Out Burger Double-Double, Animal Style. I mean, I already eat both of those things more often than I should without worrying about the health consequinces as much as I should, but it would be nice to not have the health consequences.

According to the spirit of the question? Probably some kind of pizza (I mean, pepperoni and mushrooms, obviously but the specific chain I’ll hold back from sharing, lest I be judged).

No less in keeping with the letter of the question, but probably worthy of an eye-roll? That thousand dollar steak wrapped in edible gold foil. I assume I’d still poop that gold out, right?

ETA: On third and fourth reading, I see I may have assumed facts not in evidence. I suppose I’d only want the gold-wrapped steak if the genie also had a mechanism to conjure it up on demand. Or if “cost” could be considered an adverse effect I’d be immune to.

A toss-up between pasta and beef.

A lot of good choices. But no-strings ice cream would probably bring me the most joy.

Cookies

I guess “sugar” is too general. Is “candy”? Failing that, “chocolate bars”.

“without any negative health effects” includes tooth decay, right?

Beer.

Hm, allergy wise, I have 3 major ones that screw me- mushrooms, palm/coconut/tropical oil/fat/solids/sugar and shellfish. Mushrooms are in so much stuff as a component of ‘natural flavors’ or as cheap bulk vegetation or just an ingredient in general. That damned ‘superfood’ or cheap oil crap where palm/coconut seems to be replacing other oils/fats and just as a superfood is dumb. Oil is oil is oil, and sugar is sugar is sugar but there you go - I have to ask what is in baking mixes because palm oil is replacing the previous neutral vegetable oils - I can no longer just grab a donut or snack cake or any backed good, really. Sucks ass. And shellfish - fish sauce is an umami booster, and clam juice is frequently added to seafood anything, so I have to be careful about anything ‘oriental’ or pacific rim because they frequently put fish sauce or even curry paste in a lot of stuff.

Now if there is a food I love, it would be artichokes steamed and served with various stuff to dip into, drawn butter, hollandaise, even a plain vinigrette [though I did have grilled baby artichokes with garlic aioli that was amazing!] Could my food wist be artichokes with any dip or would I have to specify the dip?

Though lobster with drawn butter springs to mind also [though it is also amazing dipped in hollandaise though maybe that would be it - hollandaise sauce as my wist food =) ]

Pizza. A variety of toppings would keep me from getting bored, and the salt wouldn’t violate my almost-salt-free diet and damage my kidneys. And the pizza wouldn’t raise my blood sugar.

I too would pick booze.

But if the OP were to insist it be actual food and not beverage, then my choice is popcorn. Popped in coconut oil and swimming in Amish butter to the point it’d have to be eaten with a spoon.

Can I substitute foodstuff(s) for cigarettes? I really miss smoking but it’s overwhelmingly obvious those little motherfuckers want to kill me so I had to leave that dysfunctional relationship in the past. But if this amnesty can be slightly modified I would love to catch up on old times.

If that doesn’t work then put me down for alcohol as well.

Only if you eat them?

If your genie can deal with food allergies, then I will take gluten. I am so craving a bagel right now it isn’t even funny - or a plate of pasta.

Bread

Cheesecake. Rich dense cheesecake.
