Hey! I’m not the only one! I’ll also occasionally dip chicken nuggets in a Frostie. They don’t go as well with it as the fries, but it’s still a pretty good combo.
When I was a kid, I liked chocolate (particularly Crunch bars) dipped in pizza sauce. I haven’t tried it in over 10 years and honestly don’t think it sounds that good anymore, despite having liked it before.
My sister is a fan of bacon with chocolate, but the rest of my family doesn’t like the combination. We still give her a hard time about the bacon chocolate cupcakes she made for our dad’s birthday a few years ago.
Salsa Omelet. Used to make me cringe when my father did this. 25 years later the old taste buds have changed to a point where it has gone from disgusting to delicious.
Heh, I remember the struggle I had when I was with a group of international students in college to get them to try a root beer float so I’m not surprised. Most of them quite liked it once they did however. Hope you get them on our side later
When I was a kid, my folks and I would visit Poland every four years, and one year I introduced the local kids to the idea of a Coke float at a local kawiarnia (cafe). I must have been around 14 at the time, which would have been 1989. The kids all first looked at me like I was some kind of weirdo, but by the end of the trip, almost all of them were making Coke floats for themselves. I don’t know if it stuck, but I had them convinced for at least that summer.
One slice of toast slathered on one side with ketchup; another slice of toast slathered on one side with maple syrup; put a couple slices of scrapple between 'em, then squash together…you’ve got yourself a respectable Philly breakfast sandwich, my friend.
I thought EVERYBODY dunked fries in a milkshake (or Frosty)! Some prefer chocolate shakes, others prefer strawberry, but you gotta scoop up a blob of ice cream with the fry and eat it before the blob slides off.
A good friend introduced me to hot chocolate and Fritos. I think she also taught me to eat green grapes with potato chips.
And potato chips BELONG in a bologna (“bloney”) sandwich. You open up the sandwich, pile on a layer of chips, and then squish the whole thing back together again.
Sweet gherkin pickles sliced thin and included in a cheese sandwich before grilling is sublime.
It’s also MANDATORY to put strawberry jam on an Egg McMuffin before you eat it.
