Ha, I say to you. And double HA!
Starting on Friday, this weekend has been all about the food. Friday night we had fruit-and-chicken-with-crunchy-things salad, ham, turkey & roast beast sandwiches, pickled garlic, olives, pickles and assorted munchies. Then we had some Mike’s Hard Lemonade and homemade ice cream.
Saturday morning, we went to a memorial service and were invited to join the family in the Parish Hall for luncheon - fried chicken, coleslaw, lasagne, corn, green beans, three kinds of cake and homemade cookies. Saturday night, my gourmet-pizza making friend made ELEVEN pizzas: cheese, cheese & sausage, mushroom-and-wine-and-garlic, ham & sauerkraut, scalloped potato, eggplant and olive, fajita pizza, roast beef & giardinara, bbq chicken, margherita, and finally broccoli/chicken alfredo. Plus we had wine and cheese and cookies and chips and cake and pecan bread.
Today, we had a Mothers’ Day brunch: prime rib, garlic mashed poatoes, breakfast enchiladas, cinnamon pancakes, bacon, sausage, tomato salad, veggie tray, fruit tray and again, lots and lots of homebaked goodies. For dinner tonight we had fettucine with pesto and garlic bread.
