Food lovers: I'd like to make you jealous with my meals this weekend

Saturday for lunch: Beef & pan-fried noodles.

Satuday for dinner: Clams in a baked-bean sauce, as well as butterfly shrimp with bacon.

Sunday for lunch: Fresh LIVE crabs (well, they started out live) & steak.

YUM! Anyway, the crabs were easier to deal with than the shrimp was sometime ago. They brought them home, dumped them in the sink, boiled water. Then my future FIL ripped their claws off and dumped them in the boiling water. We covered the table with newspaper and ate them up! Delicious.

If you’d said ‘Steak, Steak, and Steak’ I’d have been jealous.

I just figured there was something on the menu for everyone.

Keep nassssty clams and gives us the shrimps!

They might well make my pants explode if I actually tried them. But Alas my post highlights my own lack of imagination and experience with food.

Ha, I say to you. And double HA!

Starting on Friday, this weekend has been all about the food. Friday night we had fruit-and-chicken-with-crunchy-things salad, ham, turkey & roast beast sandwiches, pickled garlic, olives, pickles and assorted munchies. Then we had some Mike’s Hard Lemonade and homemade ice cream.

Saturday morning, we went to a memorial service and were invited to join the family in the Parish Hall for luncheon - fried chicken, coleslaw, lasagne, corn, green beans, three kinds of cake and homemade cookies. Saturday night, my gourmet-pizza making friend made ELEVEN pizzas: cheese, cheese & sausage, mushroom-and-wine-and-garlic, ham & sauerkraut, scalloped potato, eggplant and olive, fajita pizza, roast beef & giardinara, bbq chicken, margherita, and finally broccoli/chicken alfredo. Plus we had wine and cheese and cookies and chips and cake and pecan bread.

Today, we had a Mothers’ Day brunch: prime rib, garlic mashed poatoes, breakfast enchiladas, cinnamon pancakes, bacon, sausage, tomato salad, veggie tray, fruit tray and again, lots and lots of homebaked goodies. For dinner tonight we had fettucine with pesto and garlic bread.

Spam, eggs, sausage and spam.

Actually I recently got a new cook book so Saturday I had a London Broil with a red wine marinade and today I just had braised lamb shoulder chops.
