Yeah, five is a weird question. I was thinking, tabbouli (middle eastern) or raita (Indian), stuff like that. I figured there’d be several I didn’t know about.
And, sorry about the appellation question. I knew there were at least three (Champagne, Bordeaux, & Rhone) and same thing, figured there were probably more. I forget that not everyone compulsively reads every printed word on all objects in their immediate vicinity at all times, heh.
But now, “corn dog” qualifies as a fritter? I’ll have to go look that up…

Well, here’s the M-W definition of a fritter. “A small mass of fried or sautéed batter often containing fruit or meat.”
By that definition, I think that a corndog would qualify. Unless you think it’s too large.
