Foods/condiments you ONLY like when combined with something else

I stopped eating mustard when I stopped eating meat. And it’s a shame because I love mustard - I just have nothing to put it on. It doesn’t work with any plant-based foods. :\

Apple sauce was invented for the sole purpose of dipping french fries in it. No, wise guys, *not *pork chops - french fries. Of course, I’m speaking of the kind one would make at home, not the ones you’d get from a fast food place.

My thoughts on coffee:

It looks really lovely, particularly when cream is added.

It smells so good.

The feel of the warmth of it in a cup is delightful.

It makes you feel wonderful.

So how come it tastes like shit?

Arby’s sauce. The stuff is wonderful on their roast beef sandwiches. But I tried putting some of that stuff on a RB sandwich I had made at home and it tasted like crap. Weird.

Also, I don’t know if this counts but I love a tall glass of (skim) milk with any tomato based, Italian type dish. Yum.

All indian dishes must have raita. And plenty of it. On top. Mixed together. Scooped up on naan. Mmmm!

I like horseradish right out of the bottle. No need to combine it with anything.

Exactly. It smells so good and looks so good with cream on top and yet it tastes like dirt. I get tricked into it every now and then by the smell and appearance and then I feel sick the whole day afterwards.

I think the best representation of what coffee should taste like is coffee ice cream.
