Lately I’ve been obsessed with Reese’s Puffs. Best. Cereal. EVAR.

I love that stuff. My wife is so much a polar opposite - I truly believe she thinks it’s The WORST cereal ever.

MANGOES! They’ve got to be fresh and ripe and sweet and slurpy.
Or else the special dried mangoes made in the Philippines that you can get at Costco, all plump and sweet with that - unh! - amazing mango taste!
(And good for you, too!)

…Oooh, and mushrooms. I have this sick love of mushrooms that blinds me to other delicious options. If I had to choose between succulent prime rib without mushrooms and overcooked chicken with mushrooms, I’d go with the chicken. <snip>

Come to Japan. It seems that almost half the produce section at the grocery is mushrooms. Lots and lots o’ fungi. Little ones, big ones, bright ones, dark ones. Dr Seuss could write a rhyme about 'em.
I’m with the crowd that could survive on pizza alone. I’ve done it before, I’ll probably do it again. Frozen, fresh, take-out, eat-in, American, Italian, Greek, Turkish, anything on top but just hold the fish and whatever cheese Imo’s puts on theirs. Mmmmmm! Tomorrow, if it’s not raining, dammit, I’m getting pizza!

I’m curious now: how popular/well-known are feijoas outside of New Zealand? Googling for ‘feijoa’ seems to bring up a disproportionate number of ‘.nz’ sites, and searching on the Dope results in just one hit, where it is mentioned as a possible Scrabble word. Firefox’s spelling checker doesn’t recognise it either.

I polished off half a kilo last night. They’re not a terribly common fruit in Australia, but when they’re in season you can generally get them at better fruit and veg stores or the markets.
I see the trees at nurseries quite often, so there must be a fair few in back yards around the place.
I’m like you, I grew up with one in the back garden. I do wonder whether they might be a taste you need to acquire in childhood before you know any better. They do have a very distinctive odour of oil of wintergreen which I imagine might be a bit off-putting if you come to them as an adult.
Blueberry jam on toast.
Crumpets.

I looked it up and recognized them as pineapple guavas. Someone brought a bag of them to class once to share. It tasted foul to me.
(sorry double-post; my edit took too long)
Has anyone else in the U.S. ever had a cherimoya ? “A mouthwateringly delicious, sweet, creamy, subtropical fruit, organically grown in New Zealand, combining the exotic flavours of pineapple, papaya, passionfruit, banana, mango and lemon into one luscious delight. Mmmmmmm.” It’s true. And I know they grow in California too.

Woah, I had never heard of those before. I’m gonna have to see if one of our produce grocers carries them. (They sound really good!)

Feta and gorgonzola cheese, for eggs and salads.
Hummus.
Pretzels.
Hot fudge.
Salsa.
Christ, I wouldn’t know where to start. Right this very moment, I’d say bing cherries. I’m eating some now that I bought this AM at the farmers’ market. They’re just coming into season, and they are *soooooo *good!

I just saw some the other day in the supermarket, and I was wondering what they were. I’ll try some.
Rice & scrambled eggs.
Fry crunchy rice in one pan using lots of butter. Clog your arteries. Make it really crunchy.
In another pan, scramble eggs, then combine with the crunchy rice. Add lots of salt and pepper, ketchup, and enjoy!
