Y’all are a chatty bunch. I went to irk today and turned in the SOP I was dreading. One less thing. I got home around 4 and we had delivery from the good place, ate, laid down at 6 and just awoke at 9 pm not knowing the day or if it was night or day.
I need to irk tomorrow for a while cause it’s payroll day and I may as well get some of my EOM done. Can’t do my credit card stuff till after the first so that means either back on Sat or on Moanday.
I went to church some as a child but never regularly and when I did it was either a Methodist or Baptist church.
Buddy sleeps in bed with us and will actually growl and nip me if I disturb him while he is trying to sleep and after a couple times of that he moves over so as not to be disturbed. He also likes to sleep under the covers.
I am tired of this pandemic shit. I need to go back to surgeon with hubs next week but that puts me back into two weeks quarantine. He went earlier this week with a friend and had an echocardiogram. He is still doing great and getting his strength and stamina back. I do have to remind him twice a day that we are still in the middle of a pandemic cause he is constantly going. He swears he is being safe.

One morning when I was in second grade we were walking into the school from morning Mass. I said something to the kid in line ahead of me. Talking in line was forbidden. Sister Mary Lorenza grabbed me and drug me out of line. She parked me in a corner of the hallway and told me not to leave the corner until she came back for me. This was just after the 8.15am Mass so it was probably about 8.45am.
I was still standing in that corner after 5.00pm when my Mom and a police officer found me. Sister Mary Lorenza had forgotten about me…
She was born on tax day 2018, so right around 2 anna quarter years. When we first got in the pool, she was clinging to her Mama - wouldn’t even come to me. But before long, she was “swimming” on her own (that life jacket is great!) and either going off the diving board or jumping off the side of the pool.
FCD and daughter just left to meet with the home inspector. I’ve got to send some documents to the mortgage guy since I’m cosigning their loan. Then I’ve got laundry and cleaning to do today. It’s overcast with promise of rain all day - dunno if I’ll get to walk or not, but vigorous house cleaning may be an acceptable substitute.
I’m thinking I may make some deviled eggs, just because.
Morning all. Just finished a Big Bowl O’Cereal and a banana, so my stomach and I are at peace. Weather folks are predicting stormy weather for this afternoon, so I must needs get about things and do my Great August Grocery run this morning, along with picking up from the Dry Cleaners. 80F already and heading for 88F, they say.
Never went to private/parochial school so no horror stories there.
Butters, don’t know if it’s the new site or the new folks posting but yeah, we have about 227 messages now, which would be the 5th page on the old board and it’s only Firday morning. So it has gotten busier.
Boo, we have geese too. They seeded the soccer field next to the ponds last year and for awhile the players had to avoid either the geese or all the goose poop on the field…

It’s been a productive morning so far. Apart from the mundane shower/dress/breakfast/caffeinate routing, I’ve fed and (twice) changed Roxy, loaded and started the dishwasher and tidied the kitchen, started the ice maker, gathered and started laundry, and cleaned the cat box - all before 9AM!! Vacuuming and dusting to follow soon.
It’s still overcast but the temps are hanging in the mid-70s, so that’s nice. Laundry will have to go into the dryer, tho, but that’s fine.
Afternoon all. I’ve decided to go visit the ol’ stomping grounds for a few days- my former house has a room free at the moment, they’re pretty sure that 2/3 residents have already had covid, and the landlord said I can stay if I help him move a bunch of music gear to the studio, 'cos no-one there has a car. I think I need to do something and meet up with people before I go a bit mad- well, madder than my usual standard. Going back to the chaos for a bit should help.
I don’t think I’ll be doing anything else today- I didn’t wake up til lunchtime, and I think it’s going to be a day of slobbing. I’ve been having far too many of them lately, but it’s a bit too hot for me to want to go for a walk, and I really don’t feel like doing anything today. The flat downstairs is already full of workmen stripping it- I can hear them through the floor- which is definitely giving me a bit of a downer.

Despite being roasting hot and feeling rather “meh”, I have been productive. I was in the gym at 7am, and have already promised to show up for bootcamp tomorrow. It’s been a “meh” day at irk, but I have irked and achieved some things. My turn to cook tonight, I got mince out of the freezer which I shall turn into keema and cook up some rice to go with it. After that, it’ll be cocktails and films for the rest of the night, with a side order of fan.
Howdy all. Pants have been collected from the Dry Cleaners and groceries have been procured (even if I forgot my list) and stored, so life is good. 85F but the hum-diditty makes it feel like 97F, so inside I will stay.

Totally mundane and pointless, but I was perusing the Costco sale flier this morning and saw an ad for a dishwasher soap that “Powers away 48 hour baked on food!” Seems to me that if you’ve got dishes lying about for 48 hours with food on them, you’ve got larger problems than your brand of detergent.
Been on the phone a few times with the finance guy for daughter’s house. I am now a co-buyer, so I’ve been gathering up assorted documentation of my financials. I think we’ve finally got everything straightened out, and I have a rough idea of how much we’ll have to take to closing (less than I’d expected, so that’s good.)
The home inspection went pretty well. The only issue that’ll need to be fixed is where the water comes into the house - there’s a tiny leak. FCD estimates the repair will be a few hundred, so we don’t expect any blowback from the seller. There were a few other things that he wants Daughter and SIL to fix themselves - very minor, mostly not costing much or anything (like needing a new GFCI outlet and either a new bulb or a new ceiling fixture in one bedroom.) And since I’m a co-buyer, I need to be added to the contract - again, a minor bit of paperwork.
So we just need to see the final inspection report, then hear back from the seller on the leak repair, and we should be good to go. Plus FCD and Daughter took measurement and made a rough layout of the house. That will help them plan furniture layouts/purchases, among other things.
Laundry is done, Roxy is napping, FCD is out getting info on another job, and I think I’ll be nice and wait till after nap to vacuum. It’s only 77°F, but ludicrously humid - still not sure if I want to walk or not…
It was a wet 72 degrees at the park this morning. Not many showed up, so we got home early.
Looks like we got lots of rain last night, and it started sprinkling when we left the park,

The other evening when I was going to pick up the pups, traffic was all backed up. Big ass goose walking down the road as though (s)he owned it. They don’t seemed to be bothered a bit by the cars rushing by.
More subscribe and save stuff coming today. One thing that I really need is not coming as it’s on back order. Yet I went out to da jungle and ordered it, should be here by Sunday. Since it’s edible, it’s okay to have more.
Got paid today, still cannot figure out how my pay is being calculated. It’s more than I expected, so I guess I will live with the uncertainty.
Don’t know what all I’ll be doing today. I don’t feel like doing much of anything.
