For those of you that love men: A hairy question for you.

I don’t like mustaches alone, but I don’t mind beards. DangerDad grows a beard sometimes, which I like.

My dad has a mustache, quite a nice one. I can’t really imagine him without it. But he’s the only person I don’t mind it on that I can think of right now.

DangerDad looks pretty 70’s with a mustache (we once had fun shaving him selectively as he got rid of the beard; he looks great with a goatee, but neither of us likes them).

  1. Yes! Very attractive, although Cowboy doesn’t wear one.
  2. No, my dad didn’t wear one, except once in a while when he was being silly.

Someone upstream mentioned the theory that you’re attracted to the opposite of your parent of the relevant sex… not here. Not only do Cowboy and my dad look and act similarly, they have the same first name!

My brother had a beard for the first two and a half year’s of his daughter’s life. When he shaved it off and came into the room she looked a little apprehensive and scared at first (we all thought she was going to bawl) but then she started rolling around the floor laughing and pointing and saying he looked like a monkey. My brother was bemused but a little hurt as well I think

  1. Depends on the man. I’ve seen men with scraggly, half-assed facial hair that makes them look ridiculous, or the guys with the Grizzly Adams look can be a little too “mountain man” for my tastes. A guy with a nice, well groomed beard or mustache or both can be very attractive, indeed. Why, yes, Stonebow does have facial hair! Hm, imagine that

  2. My father has had mustaches, and sometimes the mustache/beard combo, in the past, but never for very long. It usually lasts about a year, and over my entire life, I’d have to say Dad’s had facial hair <20% of the time.

  1. Moustache alone, heck no. Beard alone, heck no. Moustache with goatee or beard: yes, please! I like goatees best, but my boyfriend has recently grown a short beard and it looks good on him. I have super sensitive skin and I vastly prefer hair around the mouth to cleanshaven, since even cleanshaven mouths have microscopic hairs that irritate my skin. And an 8 hour growth: ouch!

2)With a few failed exceptions, my dad was always clean shaven. My dad looks terrible with facial hair.

My boyfriend and dad have the same color hair and eyes, but other than that do not look alike.

I don’t like a moustache or a beard, but a goatee or a mustache with a goatee looks good on some guys.

My dad was clean shaven AND bald. And I like bald guys.

Do you ladys like nose hair ,I can’t get rid of them.

  1. No
  2. No (in fact, when he grew a beard and mustache later in life, my mom and I teased him about it, trying to get him to get rid of it)

I don’t mind the little goatee-type beard/mustache thingies, but I don’t like big bushy mustaches or full beards.

>I’ve been with a few shavers, but I always felt like I was crawling into bed with a little kid. Creepy

Hey, bless your heart, you’re my kind o’ gal.

  1. Yes, if it compliments them, of course. No porn mustaches.
  2. Yes.

My husband has had one on and off - mostly off.

  1. Emphatically yes! I think most men look better with a 'stache, and some look better with a beard (never a beard by itself). I think facial hair adds character to a man’s face, and a full beard makes the eyes stand out dramatically.

  2. My father was sometimes clean-shaven, sometimes had a 'stache, sometimes a beard.

  3. My mother never had facial hair . . . well, until menopause, but that’s another thread.

Do you mean coming out of the nostrils, or growing on the top (yes, I’ve actually seen that)?

  1. No. I can’t stand facial hair of any kind on men. No exceptions. If I wanted a rash, I’d rub my toothbrush all over my face.

  2. My dad had some form of facial hair most of my life until about high school. Then the beard/mustache started showing gray hairs, so he’s been clean shaven ever since.

  1. I usually love facial hair, but do have issues with some of the wierd shapes for beards and sideburns that the younger crowd has been experimenting with. Of course, they are too young for me anyway, so what does it matter?

  2. No, except for a very short time when I was in my teens.

Agree the beard without mustache look is odd. I expect the guy to burst out, “Come John Book, we are going to build a barn!”

I don’t like full beards (hello, Grizzly Adams). Goatees can look nice, but I don’t particularly like the feel of facial hair on my skin (especially my face), so while it wouldn’t be a deal-breaker, I prefer clean-shaven.

And my dad never had a mustache. I come from a long line of people with baby-fine hair, and not too much of it either, and he could never get a decent beard/ mustache to grow in. My brother grew a goatee once, but found that it was too sparse to look very good and a PITA to keep up, so he took it off.

  1. Heck, yeah!
  2. Nope.

JOhn.

Hair on top of the nose is not much problem ,they can be easy plucked out.
The real enemy lurks inside the nostrills, sometimes whe I’m occupied over a couple of weeks I forget about them, and then one day standing in front of a mirror I see them, whole bunch, sticking out in every direction- looong and black.
So then I go intio action with the tweezers and pluck them all.
Saved for another week.

well! So much for that theory!

  1. Depends on the man
  2. Beats the shit out of me

Oh, you mean like this?
