Forbidden Thread: Mafia V

I was really rooting for you. In fact, if they hadn’t targetted you last Night, I would have thought you’d have had it won for for the Non-Believers.

This is the first time I’ve really played with a sort of loose plan. So close. I honestly didn’t expect to be dead this Morning, but oh well.

I would really, really like to know the nature of your plan. It would seem to me that you were making an assumption - that more vanilla nonbelievers were out there the last few Days, apart from yourself - that was uncertain, so you were seriously gambling. Or did you somehow know that there were others?

Dammit dammit dammit. WHYYY did they have to go kill her. :frowning: Booo.

From a purely Believer point of View

**Hahahahahahahahahahaha !!! ** :stuck_out_tongue:  :stuck_out_tongue:

Aside from that, well played Hockey Monkey, you were close.

When I went back and studied the win conditions, it stated that (paraphrasing) a non-believer win would be when all the cultists are dead and believer’s number no more than 50% of the remaining town. We didn’t have to be the last ones standing. I loosely figured that there was at least one more than me left, and maybe two who were vanilla non-believers. It was in no way coordinated. I don’t want to say much more about the plan in case there are eyes in here, but I read upthread somewhere that it looked like I was playing both sides against the middle. All I’ll say is  .

NAF’s not going to spend the day poking the town with a stick? He’s a better man than I

I don’t know if it was me that said that or not, but I will say that there were a couple of times in this game that I was quite perturbed with you. :stuck_out_tongue:

But hey…good thing I died when I did, or I’d have outed myself the next day specifically to reveal you as being scum.

I think the game would have gone a lot differently if I had not told that one teensy weensy untruth when I claimed. I knew you were the Oracle when you questioned me about it. I think the Cult may have too.

It was Hal’s “hurry up scum and kill someone already” post during the night (quite early that night, too) that first drew attention. How did he know it was scum holding things up?

After that, all the discussion on day 1 about the oracle/apprentice narrowed the list down a lot, and his “yo oracle, over here” post was the final nail. The town was absolutely right to try to stop the discussion, but it was too late.

I want to blab so bad.

Same here.

I don’t think zuma knows yet.

Re: Hockey Monkey

How can you out her as being scum? I mean, the Alchemist also reads as a non-believer…

I had her down as a Cultist. Hal B intimated he had been blocked and **Hockey Monkey ** said she had not blocked anyone.

If she did not block anyone, someone else did. This means she is misclaiming being the Alchemist.

The only reason to misclaim is if you are a Cultist.

Hey, I had her down as the Prophet at that stage and it was only because no-one else role claimed I let it go.

Okay, this makes sense. One thing I can’t figure out: why did Hockey Monkey lie about not blocking anyone? It’s mighty dangerous, considering the ‘lynch all liars’ unwritten rule.

Check the winning conditions. It should help you understand why she did it and what she was up to.

There was only one person in the game that could have known if I was lying about it if he was the Oracle. Which he turned out to be. At that point in the game it was too early for a plan, and I didn’t want to give away anything to either side about who I had targeted…because I didn’t know who they would turn out to be either. It was quite amusing to see everyone searching for breadcrumbs after Hal’s death, when likely there were none or only one.

I’ve just realised there is one question I have to ask:

zuma - were you actually drunk when you posted or was that cooked up by the Cultists as part of the ploy to out the monks?

Ooo, that’s right, you probably don’t know – you tried to block me twice, but one of your attempts failed – you only got in one block. Still, it didn’t matter…there really wasn’t any breadcrumbing.

I was drunk at the time, but I can’t really talk about that just yet…
