I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. That fucker stole my pen.
Shodan- Don’t forget the outpouring of our bleeding-heart Lefties during the illnesses or passings of…
Jesse Helms
Ronald Reagan
Jerry Falwell
Tony Snow
Heck, Mother-Freakin’-Theresa has her share of Haters here!
Let’s face it, Lefties- your levels of virtue and vileness are in parity with that of us Righties. And vice versa. Of course, we happen to be… well… Right!
Life’s too short. I can’t find any joy in death.
Well, I don’t think I said anything here, but Jeffy Falwell didn’t exactly show a great degree of compassion for me. While I was still trying to discover if any of my friends (fortunately none) or business associates has been murdered by religious fundamentalists, he decided the time was right to say that I, and people of my beliefs, were at least partially responsible for the attacks. So on the villa vs. Falwell front, I’d say that asswipe started it.
I don’t see anyone whining about how Richard Butler’s death was treated here. What have you all got against white supremacists, eh?
He’s lying at death’s door, and I hope they pull him through.
Not me. He needs to experience an epiphany, where he recognizes that the things he did while vice president quialify him to be regarded as a monster. And once he recognizes that he was a monster, I’d like for him to wallow in remorse about that for several years.
I don’t want him to die until he has spent months BEGGING for death’s sweet release.
Exactly. I don’t wish Cheney ill, but I don’t wish him well, either. I wish him justice. Period.
Exactly, because whatever Dole’s shortcomings as a legislator, he never engineered an illegal, immoral war which cost hundreds of thousands of human lives.
Racist, sexist, horrible homophobe. Not deserving respect.
Two words out of many that could be said: Iran-Contra.
The one who fathered the modern “Christian” right, was a cheerful supporter of segregation and segregationist politicians --including the apartheid Pretorian government of South Africa – until it started making him look bad, helped promote the notion that Bill Clinton was involved in massive murder-and-drugs conspiracy, never met an anti-LGBT proposal he couldn’t get behind and blamed 9/11 on LGBT, non-Christian and feminist Americans? Yeah, let’s fall all over ourselves to slobber on his corpse.
That one I can’t get behind, point there.
But honestly. Some people don’t deserve respect. It’s just really that simple.
While he was still alive, this thread was started to attach him. I make a number of posts in it defending him. Typical of them:
I’d be curious to be reminded of ever launching a hateful attack on him, certainly nothing using even mildly vicious terms. I did suggest his opposition to wind farms off the coast of Massachusetts was hypocritical, but I think that’s an attack on policy, not on person.
Have I ever attacked Kennedy in any kind of vicious terms?
Have I ever attacked any liberal public figure in vicious terms?
And amazingly, those people are almost all on the Right.
Have I ever called Republicans “yellow-eyed pizzle sucking pig fuckers”? No, I say, and again, no! I invite the reader to pore over my ten years of posting here and exhume an example. Failing that, I expect a public approval for my even-handed non-partisanship.
Go ahead, I dare you! Double dog dare you!
Don’t worry, Bricker. We’d be sad if you got sick.
All political views aside, it’s rather amazing from a medical standpoint that Cheney is still with us. The man had his first heart attack in 1978! He had three more attacks, the last in 2000, then spent eight years “a heartbeat away” from the world’s most stressful job. To use a phrase originally applied to another heart-attack survivor, he is cold water in a tight place.
What’s amazing? We on the right are thoroughly evil and can’t wait to kill all those gays/arabs/jews/blacks/abortion doctors, you name it.
Well, for most of the last 8 years he was cold-hearted in an undisclosed location.
Name the one on the left and we’ll see if anyone mourns them. *Everything is equal, no matter how evil, vile, and ignorant one side is, both sides are the same. *
That is the opinion of someone too lazy to think.
Well, of all the names you mentioned, that wrinkled-faced bitch was actually the most deserving of being gang-fucked by a syphilitic horde of pus-cumming barbed-cocked hell demons for all eternity, so yeah, I think so.
Someone who believes that his side is the side of the angels, and the other side is filled with evil… that’s not too lazy to think?
“Heh heh heh… it’s funny because it’s true!”
–* H. J. Simpson*
It’s the fact that the things you mention are ills afflicting all of us, so in acknowledgment of our common humanity we refrain from overtly rejoicing in such afflictions even when it’s an enemy who’s suffering from them.
No, I’m not saying that we can’t criticize on other grounds somebody who’s hospitalized, or that we have to pretend to feel personally sorry for them if we don’t like them. I’m just saying that specifically focusing on their affliction in condemning them is distasteful and inappropriate.
And although I’m the one who brought up the issue of inappropriate schadenfreude in this thread, and although I’m a frequent poster in both our political forums and as reliably liberal as they come around here, I notice our “Usual Suspects” on the Right aren’t giving me any credit for being “the face of the Left on these boards”. Typical.
I also think that many of the conservatives here who are smugly pontificating about how vindictive and inhumane some liberal posters are being would be just as nasty themselves if we were talking about the illness of somebody they considered truly evil or dangerous. I doubt many of them would be “setting aside political disagreement” to express good wishes to, say, Hugo Chavez if he were hospitalized with chest pains, for example.
