Former VP Cheney hospitalized, resting comfortably.

Our thoughts go out to the friends of colleagues of Lucifer upon his tragic fall.

It’s not a question of sides. Some of the people being discussed here really were/are truly despicable. Jerry Falwell said the victims of 9/11 “got what they deserved.” I’m having a hard time understanding why he deserves sympathy, and his “side” has nothing to do with it.

Bricker, you’re honestly trying defend a torturing war criminal?

Tell me, what is difference between Chaney and the evil torturing pieces of shit in WW2 Imperial Japan? Even if Chaney thought the deaths of hundreds of thousands and torture were necessary in the name of country, he’s still an evil piece of shit.

What would you tell the American victims of torture to justify your boy’s support of the crimes against them? Remember Japanese war criminals tried to justify it as “necessary” in defense of Japan. So if you try to drag out that Tokyo-executed horse you’ll have to do better explaining then some variation other then “they weren’t American”.
I do not wish Cheney death or physical suffering, but I do wish him a real sense of right and wrong, one that will haunt him until he dies, and also a reckoning, a day when he will be made to stand and answer to his victims for his inhuman crimes against humanity.

And I will piss on his grave. if I get the chance. Just as his time in office was completely spent pissing on the well being of the country.
Was getting your boy in office really worth the tears of the families of hundreds of thousands of dead? The hunger pangs of the unemployed? The cries of mercy from the tortured?

Do you have no mercy for his victims?

Why do you keep bringing Lon Chaney into this?

It’s been a sad few days.

First, Alexander Haig died. Then, Dick Cheney…didn’t.

I won’t bother reading the thread, but if the worst thing he did this time to inspire this thread is to fall ill, then you all need to go out and buy a pet or two.

Cheney had heart attack number 5. He has had 2 bypasses and a stint. His health care provider has taken a bath keeping the old goat alive.

His health care provider is us.

Seems to me a lot of folks on the right confuse “liberal” with “pacifist”. Not even close. I’m a gun-owning, beer-drinking, moderate Democrat who has few pacifist bones in my body and zero tolerance for those on the extremes of the political spectrum. For me, wishing Cheney ill has nothing to do with D or R and everything to do with human decency and political malfeasance. Fuck him and everyone who thinks like him.

As someone from NYC, who still remembers Falwells’ television jerk off session when he crowed about 9/11 and how New York deserves such things, well fuck him , the horse he rode in on, and anyone who looks like him. I hope that shit eating rat bastard is burning in hell. He gets the same fucking compassion and concern he gave to others … not one fucking iota. He spent his life peddling hate. He can rot for all eternity.

I refuse to shed crocodile tears for Falwell, I refuse to accord him the slightest imperceptible nod of respect. He didn’t earn it, he didn’t deserve it.

Bit of a false dichotomy there. One needn’t cry or respect the person in order to refrain from celebrating that person’s suffering.

I’m going to take this to GD. Just 'cause I’m interested and ignorant.

Back to my OP. I didn’t wish death on the POS. I want him water-boarded before he dies to get the truth out of him. After all, he’s the one that always contended that water-boarding was an effective method at getting to the truth.

I want the truth. If you can dish it out you have to be able to take it. It’s already been shown that he doesn’t tell the truth so he is a prime candidate for the treatment that he espouses. (Again, not my solution to gaining the truth but something that he insists is effective.) A democratic republic has a right to demand the truth from those that have been entrusted with power.

The news report on the MF said he was “resting comfortably”. I don’t want him resting comfortably, I want him to get some of his own torture.

(A prediction: Some of the victims of his authorized torture stood up to dozens of incidents. This chicken-hawk would sing like a canary if he got even one treatment.)

I didn’t pop open the champagne or throw a block party, but my reaction was definitely one of “Good riddance, what took you so long”. Things get personal, when it could have been your relatives and friends involved.

So, since you personally support waterboarding, why do you have a problem that Cheney did, too?

Dick Cheney is a worthless, psychopathic asshole.

But I don’t wish ill on him. It’s possible to hate someone and think someone corrupt or even evil, but not want them to die a horrible death. I hate a lot of people. I can’t think of anyone I truly want to suffer greatly and/or die.

Regarding Cheney, all I wish for him at this point are obscurity, anonymity, a loss of whatever power he still holds, and to be forgotten.

Agreed. I cringe every time I see his smirking face on TV.

Although I think it best we don’t forget our mistakes, so maybe that last part isn’t a good idea.

Nice try at throwing the responsibility back on the person that finds it appalling. As I said, if you would read, “if you can dish it out, you have to be able to take it.” I want Cheney to get a taste of his own medicine. Sort of ironic, huh?

That doesn’t mean I approve, it means he approves and defends the practice. Are you at all able to make the distinction?

Nothing ironic about it. If you think waterboarding is wrong, you shouldn’t want anyone to be waternoarded. If you want some people to be waterboarded, then you don’t think it’s wrong. Period.
