Formula 1 2025

I heard one of the announcers (think it was Brundle) say that it didn’t work because the interest was on pit stops rather than racing. I said “well, at least there was interest on something.”

Ugh…Will Buxtan AND Danica Patrick are yapping on microphones at Indy!? Oy. Might mute it…or just take a nap.

Just make it mandatory to use all three tire compounds in the race. For every race.

Is there anyone stupider than Will Buxtan? At least Danica has been relatively silent. (Watching the 500 on dvr)

I haven’t watched yet. (I signed up for IndyCar Live before realizing that in the US the races aren’t streamed live, there’s a 24 delay.)

I like Buxton on Drive to Survive. What’s an example of his stupidity?

“Trust me: 30 minutes away is just down the road for … Americans”

Countless banal yet breathless recountings of trivial events.

“Devastating” have the British developed Thesaurus technology yet?

Etc.

Since we’re talking 500… I find it incredible that this guy Alex has won 5 of the first 6 races this season. I mean, the cars are all pretty equal and there are a lot of drivers in that series. That is just some Asskicking!

A bit of a snoozer at first, but the late safety car made for an exciting end. Max proves himself to be prick, yet again. And I was just about to praise him until all his antics after the safety car. That bullshit on Russel should be a race ban. Fuck that 10s penalty bullshit.

Max needs to get Whacked in The Pee-Pee, but not to defend him, his team really fucked him over.

He should have stayed out on the not-so-bad softs, taken the lead behind the Safety Car and could have had a shot at the win. But then we probably would have seen behavior nearly as egregious in him trying to hold off Oscar and Lando, so…

Looking forward to further actions in the coming hours…

3 fucking penalty points on his super license. Really?

Didn’t Schumacher get DQ’d from the race and given a multi race ban in 94 for intentionally ramming Hill?

I’d have to look it up, but didn’t he have a whole season disallowed once? “Reggie Bushed” from the record book.

The sport needs more Oscars and less Maxs.

Possibly 94? I’d have to look it up as well and I’m far too bored with the idea to actually do it right now. As it is, im gonna hafta muster all of my strength to get another beer.

Oh! Oh, I can do that!

I don’t have a drinking problem. It turns out, I’m really good at it!

I don’t have a problem with drinking. I have a problem with not drinking.

It was The 97 season. From Wiki…

As Villeneuve approached to pass his rival on lap 48, Schumacher turned in on him but retired from the race. Villeneuve went on and scored four points to take the championship. Despite public outcry, the race stewards did not initially award any penalty, as they had deemed it a racing incident;[80] two weeks after the race, in an unprecedented move,[81] Schumacher was disqualified from the entire 1997 Drivers’ Championship after an FIA disciplinary hearing found that his “manoeuvre was an instinctive reaction and although deliberate not made with malice or premeditation, it was a serious error.”

Max’s move was 100% made with malice. Declassify him from the season.

Indeed. From looking at that replay, his constitution is not compatible with driving a F1 car, no matter how skilled he is at it.

Exactly. He’s too good of a driver to have done that shit by accident.

I got sucked into watching a YouTube video about the Spanish Shitshow. It had a couple of different angles of video of the lap in question.

What they presented made it certainly appear that Charles did indeed move left and cause the contact. Of course there is no dispute that George then punted him shortly after.

Now, I don’t know how they managed it, or what really was behind all this, but they damn near made the revenge ramming later on look like Max let George regain the position, then an attempt to immediately retake it. George not leaving room.. Sounds too corny to even type this, honestly.

I’m making no judgements or comments about any of this. I really kinda hate it when you can’t trust your own lyin’ eyes about what you’ve seen 100 times replayed.

The gist of the video was that Charles and George should also have been dinged, and that Max got punished too harshly.

I don’t know…

Here it is…

LeClerc tried to squeeze Verstappen further out and Verstappen didn’t move. Both drivers considered it a racing incident. Russell’s contact was a racing incident at best. He pulled a Verstappen on Verstappen and was ahead at the apex, and “owned” the corner (3rd dumbest thing in F1 racing rules) and was perfectly fine to push Verstappen off.

But Verstappen literally accelerated into Russell. That’s not his usual reckless disregard for others on track. Schumacher was disqualified from the WDC for as much.
