Formula One 2026

See, I was right. T-mobile and Apple have a partnership.

If you used the F1TV app (like moi), you can link your AppleTV account to it and continue to use it. That’s my preferred method, because I still have all the replays, recaps, and highlights available.

Apple’s app just never seems to work right for me.

Piastri already in the wall 35 min before race start!?! Oy.

Very exciting racing in the beginning. Very interesting during the middle. But a tad bit dull at the end, unfortunately.

But still, I enjoyed the new regs. Always happy to see a Russell win. Love seeing Merc and Ferrari back at the top. Though max/redbull do look scary. We’ll see what they can do when they can get a clean race put together…

Up until the first VSC was some of the best racing I’ve seen in quite awhile. I haven’t heard good things from the drivers, but it was fun to watch, at least. Seeing multi-turn passes and re-passes was great, and I hope teams don’t find a way to optimize that away.

I made it thru half the race before the internet/app/something crashed. So much for “Unlimited” data. Still not working, hours later.

So, what the hell happened to Oscar? And what’s with all the mechanical DNF’s? This ain’t the 80’s anymore.

Isn’t this typical with a new formula? It’s not nearly as bad as the 2014 Australian Grand Prix, where 8 of the 22 cars failed to finish the race and one was disqualified for a technical violation.

Piastri says his crash on the reconnaissance lap was due to a surge of power he didn’t expect during a gear shift.

I was very happy to see Max spin out of control in the first lap of qualifying.

Martin Brundle predicted that all of the finishers would be in the points, IOW, 12 DNFs. It wasn’t that bad.

I’m loving the Ferrari flippity floppity rear wing in FP1. Let’s see if it’s actually fast. Sprint Qualy starting in a few minutes…

Edit: BOOOO! Ferrari aren’t running their trick wing in Qualy or the rest of the weekend, apparently.

Nope, just testing it out to see how it works - and it wasn’t exactly a good one. Looks like it takes a little extra time to close over DRS, causing Hamilton to lock up and slide off-track, so they decided to close it a bit earlier. I don’t know how that will affect the car when it does make it to the race spec.

And what’s up with Red Bull? I’m not sad to see it, but they’re struggling just to make Q3.

McLaren look like they’re back in it, but Mercedes is still the head of the class. Looks like they’re making tremendous gains in sector 3, which includes the long straight.

Pretty exciting sprint race. Hoping the race is as well. Qualy in a few hrs.

I saw that coming. Goddammit!

Thanks, Obama!

Absolutely loving these new regs! So many great and extended wheel to wheel battles! Great to see Kimi get his first pole and win! He also got the hat trick, pole, win, fastest lap! And I’m always happy to see Hamilton on the podium.

Sucks to be Mclaren today though. Double DNS!?! Crazy that piastra hasn’t started a race yet this year.

Watching the two Ferrari drivers battle it out was fun to watch. Since there will be no races in April, I suggest that they should just show Lewis and Charles go head to head in various disciplines - Moto GP, race walking, swimming the English Channel, dog sledding, mountain biking, whatever.

Skid plate racing, the motorsport of the future.

Now I’m convinced that what we really need in F1 is whitewall tires.
