Four.

Yes. Four Thousand.

And it saddens me beyond belief. See, this is what happened when I hit 3000.

Dammit, June 16? Two months ago next wednesday. A few days before… it all ended.
Two months… on the one hand, it seems like an eternity. On the other hand, he is still right here.

This is without a doubt the most pathetic post count party ever. But I don’t care. I miss you, Wally.

Allow me to be the first to congratulate you. Since you post so much more often than I (always happy to see that) it really IS pathetic.

And Wally’s upstairs, cheering you on.

I’ve found myself missing him too, lately, Coldfire. The buttons we received at our Flint Dopefest last night that Baglady made contribute to that melancholy feeling.

But congratulations on reaching 4000. If Wally were here, I’m sure he would be giving you a hilarious zinger, something along the lines of how you’re coming very close to reaching your 100th worthwhile post. Only about a thousand more to go.

Now get me some European brew that will grow hair on my knuckles, dammit!

I just wasted my 100th on another thread, so I may as well wander in here with a couple of cases of Guiness…
Congratulations.
Here’s to 4000, 100 and Wally…

later, Tom

Hmmm…can Satan see me now?

Congratulations! How you manage to have a life and post that much is beyond me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Please all raise a glass to Wally .

BTW We did this in real life at the Dubdope on Fri. night ( not tequila though )

Congrats, yojimbo. So glad to see you toasted to Wally! Tell me… was it Guinness, or did you guys break the stereotype?

Maybe you missed the memo . . . after hitting 3500 posts, nobody is allowed to have a life  Makes it easier to hit 4000, and then 5000.

Coldy, seems like you post 500 times a month, or so . . . that’s about the rate I’m going, as I reached 1000 posts on or near August 6, and I joined June 6.

Yojimbo, make mine root beer, please.

Way to go Coldfire. Having a bit of a wake for a post party is a great idea. Heck, we all miss Wally. It is good friends like you that keep his spirit alive and well on the board. See you at your 5000th post party on Thursday.

John and I had the black stuff and the yanks they didn’t. Vodka&orange and cider if I’m not mistaken .

And congrats back to you mate. Keep’em coming .

::spikes iampunha’s root beer with tequila ::

Here ya go buddy . Drink up now .

Oh well, Yojimbo, we knew we couldn’t count on YANKS to be able to hold their beer. Glad to see my two favourite Paddies in good shape though! Looking forward to drink a few Guinness (and dammit, maybe even some Murphys!) with you lads in October.

Yojimbo, you can have that one. Please make mine root beer. No tequila, no vodka, no rum. Just plain root beer. I don’t drink, and I’m not 21 yet so I’m not allowed to.

iampuhna, it’s LEGAL in Europe, man! Which is where we are, legally, since it’s MY thread. Any lawyers wanna confirm this

:wally
Happy happy Coldfucker!

Congrats my friend. And I miss Wally too. :frowning:

Happy whateverth, Coldie! And no, I’m not drinking Guinness tonight. It’s funny, earlier tonight I was searching something unrelated and found where Ayesha had launched a b-day thread for me and Wally had posted a greeting. I did a double take. It wasn’t that long ago.

He was lookin’ for tequila…

Coldfire said:

Absolutely true, iampunha–you are where the OP originates from, and are therefore subject to that place’s jurisdiction. Hey, would a man with a law degree lie to you?

(Why aren’t you saying anything…?)

In honor of Wally and Coldfire, I will spend my 500th post in here. I’ll take a tequila–hold the root beer.

This root beer stuff is nearly as bad as the 1958 urine de cheval I had the other night .

Coldfire’s logic means we’re all in Holland . Light’em if you’ve got’em

Who’s up for a song.

:: Closes eyes and starts to sing ::

Raised on songs and stories, heroes of reknown.
The passing tales and glories, that once was Dublin town.
The hallowed halls and houses, the haunting children’s rhymes.
That once was part of Dublin, in the rare old times.

Ring a ring a rosie, as the light declines,
I remember Dublin city in the rare oul’ times.

My name it is Sean Dempsey, as Dublin as could be,
Born hard and late in Pimlico, in ahouse that ceased to be.
By trade I was a cooper, lost out to redundancy.
Like my house that fell to progress, my trade’s a memory.
And I courted Peggy Dignam, as pretty as you please,
A rogue and a child of Mary, from the rebel Liberties.
I lost her to a student chap, with skin as black as coal.
When he took her off to Birmingham, she took away my soul.

Ring a ring a rosie, as the light declines,
I remember Dublin city in the rare oul’ times.

The years have made me bitter, the gargle dims my brain,
'Cause Dublin keeps on changing, and nothing seems the same.
The pillar and the Met. have gone, the Royal long since pulled down,
As the grey unyielding concrete, makes a city of my town.

Ring a ring a rosie, as the light declines,
I remember Dublin city in the rare oul’ times.

Fare thee well sweet Anna Liffey, I can no longer stay,
And watch the new glass cages, that spring up along the quay.
My mind’s too full of memories, too old to hear new chimes,
I’m part of what was Dublin, in the rare ould times

Congrats Coldfire, and I’ll be sure to be there for your 5000th too.

And look on the bright side, it was a blessing that you ever knew Wally. I was never afforded that priviledge.
