Where is everybody? We have nappy pooed and dipped in the pool. It’s kinda thunderish around so we decided to come inside. Thinkin’ I may go ahead and grill burgers. That way, tomorrow we can nuke burgers plus have a burger tonight which I kinda want and since I’m the chef de cuisine what I say goes.
The floor came up easily and with 5 of us working, we were done in less than an hour, including loading the trailer. **FCD **decided to go into work - no idea why, so I started sorting thru crap in the basement closet. I’ve got at least 4 containers of trash. I also hooked up my WIN 98 machine and moved all of the stuff I want to save into a single folder. A friend of mine was going to recover it for me. So yay. I’ve got 2 more computers to check for keeper stuff, then I need to find homes for a bunch of assorted of old computer stuff.
I also found some yarn and several knitting/crocheting books, so yay! Plus a bunch of hooks - I have so many size K crochet hooks, it isn’t funny! I don’t know why I kept buying them.
Still waiting to hear back from cabinet guy. Thus endeth my Sunday.
Have run errands and obtained: lights and a lock for the new bike, some snacks for work, tea, some new khakis, and a few miscellaneous grocery items from Trader Joe’s.
Need to go outside, but am afraid of the heat.
Might go for a bike ride in a few. And possibly do a bit of clean-up in the garage so that it’s easier to get the bike in and out.
Also…am rather hungry. Maybe I should have din din before going outside?
We are packed and ready to leave for Oklahoma City in the morning. LibbyCat knows something is going on but can’t figure out what. We have our usual cat sitter coming in to take care of her so she will be OK for a couple of weeks til I get back.
I have roasted a couple of red peppers we had left in the fridge, I have peeled them and they are ready to be pulverised, saute some garlic and onion add a bit of half and half and some parmesan cheese and we have ourselves a yummy roasted red pepper sauce to go over the pan seared tilapia we are having for supper. With yellow squash and some broccolli. Yum!
We are watching movies and stay inside today temps will hit 107 American degrees here today!
Papa John made supper. I just looked thru my knit/crochet books - no afghans, alas. At least not any I’m interested in - I find granny squares to be boring. No biggie, tho - I have tons of patterns.
In fact, I think I’ll go now and do a little knitting. I’m sure you can all carry on without me for the rest of the evening…
Hope the prednisone is less panic-inducing today, doggio. (Forgot that earlier.)
Have watered everything in sight. Well, everything in containers plus a few new perennials. Also held snow shovel after brother swept up leaves and other miscellaneous plant litter.
Will go for a walk after a while if it doesn’t rain. Need to put laundry away and move stuff to dryer.
One more load of clothes and then some sheets and I’m done. Woo hoo.
I started my day by going to pick up horse semen. I bet none of the rest of you did that! The vet should be here in the morning to breed my mare.
This week I had to complete my pre-review self-evaluation. I hate those. I’m new to this position, having gotten a promotion in December, and my boss is difficult to read. I think I’ll get a decent review, but not as stellar as my previous one, because they like you to have room for improvement, especially in a new role.
too NOISY in my neighborhood to sleep. It seems every teen and twenty-something for 6 blocks around are setting off firecrackers.
DAMN KIDS! STAY OFFA MY LAWN!
Very cool afghan, donkeybear. But yeah…big ol’ pain in the patootie to put together.
There are quite a few firecrackers in my neighborhood, too, rosie. I have good windows and we’re watching a Phil Collins DVD that is assisting with the noise canceling.
Went for another really cool walk tonight. Brother got a video where you can actually see fireflies. We also saw a bunch of bats - maybe a dozen altogether. There were a bunch near the woods that were just flitting around from tree to tree. A few blocks away there’s a wooded area around a huge lawn. It’s sort of a cul-de-sac with a big island of lawn in the middle. We spent about 5 minutes watching a bat cruising back and forth over the grassy areas. Way cool.
