Nothing exotic 'round these parts. Just gaggles of Canadian Geese. Yo! Kanucks! take 'em all back, eh?
:smack: Note to self: Always proofread to make sure you didn’t anything out.

It’s been raining all afternoon. Since the water seemed to be standing instead of draining, I thought I’d be safe and stay off the freeway. While I was waiting for the light, a tree branch fell onto a car ahead of me. Several stalwart citizens got out of their cars and broke off some of the limbs and removed the rest of branch from the road as much as possible. Luckily, no one seemed to be hurt, although I didn’t see how badly the cars were damaged. Probably just dents and scratches, but I bet some seats need cleaning.
Made it to Arkansas…headed to make my supplier visit tomorrow.
I really really hate this job. Hate it. I know I should be grateful to have one in the current economy but there is only so much crap I can take and I am pretty much at the end of my tether after 3 years of bullshit. Urgh.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 99 and yet another threat of tstorms. So far, some rain but not a lot despite the predictions of gloom and doom from the local weather folk. :dubious:
Shadow  I think I would claw through the roof of the car.
mmmmmms sorry about the job woes. Maybe it’ll get better or you’ll find a new gig.
Today I get to attend a meetin’ of an advisory board for two hours! Oh well, it does include N.O.L. from the good sammich place.
I need more caffiene and some brekkie for a very rumbly tummy. Then I must irk purtify. I suppose I should bother to look a little more presentable today. Alas.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
Blurf. That is all.
I’m feeling better, but I’m worried about Dad. I got him some antibiotics for an ear infection on Sunday night. Monday night he started feeling nauseous, and yesterday morning was unable to hold down anything, including water. I’m not sure the two are related, but I’ve told him to discontinue the antibiotics. I’m staying home with him today. I hope he will be able to drink some liquids soon! I keep urging him to try. We’ll go to urgent care if necessary.
Rebo - I’ve had that reaction to antibiotics. There are several I cannot take for that reason. Did his doc prescribe them or did you just bring some that you had? Also some antibiotics will react badly with other meds he may be on. IANAD, but I have years of experience with bad interactions. Take him to his doc or urgent care today.
He had a dentist friend prescribe them. He’s been able to keep a half glass of water down so far. I’m watching him. He has an appointment on Friday already, but we’ll go today if necessary.
In other news bacon jam
Rosie the link won’t open for me. I am very sad because I want to learn all about bacon jam.
Rebo I second gettin’ your dad to urgent care today. Reactions to antibiotics are not good things. I’m just sayin’ given his age and health.
Also… dear senior citizen I just talked to over the phone:
No matter how many times you ask the same question over and over and over and over and over, no matter how many times you attempt to rephrase said question over and over and over and over, the answer is and shall always be (well, at least until Medicare changes it) the same. No matter what you may think, I cannot call up TPTB in D.C, and say, “my customer does not like this answer so change it, kthnxbye!” It just won’t work.
Irk is just the funnest thing evah ain’t it!
Morning everyone - I have the day off, so of course I slept in until around 10, ignoring every health professional’s advice ever.
Speaking of health professional’s advice, Rebo, y’all should go get some. I don’t think that the vomiting is necessarily the worst thing ever, nausea/vomiting is a common side effect in some antibiotics, but the doctor’ll probably want to give him something for that ear infection; the 3 days he’s taken so far probably means it’s gonna come right back. Might as well get some free Phenergan or Zofran out of the deal
Today is a non-smoking day, maybe. I kind of ran out of money until payday. Sure, I could absolutely certainly find enough money in quarters in my change jar, or go take 10 bucks out of my savings account, but the first feels too much like my mother, and the second would require approximately a mile drive out of my way. Although the alternative, just being grumpy for a couple of days, isn’t terribly appealing, either.
AND! I tried calling the psychiatrists recommended to me by my insurance yesterday - one isn’t taking new patients until October, and the other isn’t accepting new adults. Time to try second choices, is there a site that lists pictures of doctors for a certain city so I can choose by picture?
just google it - you’ll find it
I think bacon jam might have made that bland ham 'n turkey sammich I et for N.O.L. palatable. Bleh!
Home - I could have sold 5 refrigerators if I’d had them! As it is, I sold it to a guy at work, and he’s giving me an extra $25 to bring it in so he doesn’t have to drive across the bridge to get it. That’ll cover the toll, the gas, and the aggravation, so I accepted.
Waiting for a call from the guy who was interested in the kitchen cabinets - man, if he takes 'em, that’s another $500, which is good. It’ll pay for the cabinets **FCD **wants to make in his new shop. So yay.
My boss is an evil evil evil man. He posted a note on our work BB saying I’d be filling in for him next week and everyone should invite me to meetings to keep me busy. He must die!!! I’m trying to decide how to decorate his office in his absence. Can’t decide between making a giant version of that gawd-awful “chalice” he gave me, or filling the office with pictures of me - including a mobile - or making a shrine to me.
Or something else… Ideas??
I spent some time today making appointments for my exit interviews. Wouldn’t you know, with 4 weeks available to him, one guy picked the exact time someone else scheduled. I’m waiting for him to resked. And I turned in my 2 maps and got signed off by the library - first initial done!
Supper will be sketties. I’ve got to iron something for the stupid ceremony in the tent in the parking lot tomorrow. I should call in sick.
Put 3 sheep in his office. Make sure they’re prominently numbered 1, 3, and 4.
Are you me? I’m currently kicking myself because I missed the big 3-community college job fair yesterday afternoon. Note to self: start writing down your notes to self. :smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack:
FCM, you should definitely do the giant version of the chalice. And then you should make sure your boss sees this classic routine before he goes into his office.
By the way, anybody recognize the lady in green? It’s a very young Angela Lansbury.
I keep forgetting something that addresses the OP. When we were still living in FL, the desk and computer sat facing the front window looking out into the cul-de-sac. I looked up one day and saw half a dozen peacocks walking around, making a gawd-awful racket. Not exactly what one expects to see in a crappy suburban neighborhood.
I think someone living nearby was raising them and they managed to escape. Many of the older properties in the neighborhood had much more land than our mini-lots.
There’s always the aluminum foil gag . . .
Jeez! What a mooch! I’ve already given Smokey a few nibs of my roast beast sammich (dinner), but Nooooooooooooooo! She. Must. Have. Moar. even when there’s none left. She’s staring at me. :eek:I am not roast beast, Smokey. Stop licking yer chops!
