Foxes, bats and lightning bugs: a walky MMP

At a bar for a meeting. Roommate is threatening to poison my dogs. I’m pretending to be horrified by the thought.

FCM, go with the shrine. And do what I do, and sign all your correspondence “His(Her) Supreme Excellency”

Dad is feeling better! He’s had half a glass of 7-up, lots of ice chips, some tuna salad and bread, some chicken noodle soup, and some canteloupe. And a cigarette! He hasn’t thrown up all day. Yay!

Friday, we’ll get the doctor to look at his ear and diagnose him properly, and prescribe him another antibiotic if required.

He’s interested in dinner, too.

it’s also possible, Rebo, if he’s had more than two round of antibiotics in recent weeks, that his body was rebelling - saying NO MORE! I’VE HAD ENOUGH!
When I had my hips replaced, the hospital/rehab had me on IV anti’s for 5 straight weeks. I finally just refused them, and within 24 my fever was completely gone, and did not come back.

Nah, it’s been done to death. Al deserves something original…

**doggio **- I thought you were rehoming Gordie?

Excitement in the aquarium. We had a mantis shrimp that hitchhiked into our tank on a hunk of rock. it was about an inch long - much smaller than the one in the link - but we’re pretty sure it was responsible for the deaths of several snails, crabs, and possibly a fish. **FCD **just happened to see it in a hole in a rock on top of a pile, so he pulled the rock out and sprayed it with fresh water. The evil mantis shrimp came out! So the rest of the wildlife in the tank is save and the evil shrimp has had a final flush.

I hate to have living things die, but this little bugger deserved it. He’d eventually get big enough to hurt the bigger fish, and for what they cost, he had to go.

fake blood on his carpet and crime scene tape across his door?

Still working on it. Are you sure you don’t want him? I’ll pay shipping.

MOOOOOOM  That… that… that… thing in the video is truly hideous and evil! I may have nightmares. Also go with the shrine to yourself. You could do the chalice even with a photoshopped pic of you as a knight in shinin’ armor. A laff riot it’d be!

Home from Evening Prayer. Today is the Feast of St. Paul and St. Peter for those keepin’ score.

Rebo glad dad is feelin’ better.

I shall surf for a bit and then Ima go beddy bye cause I’s tahrd!

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Ooh, mantis shrimp can punch through glass. Glad you got rid of it.

Oh, TomKitten, go to sleep. No one is hurting you.

Here. Need to do cleaning and putting away but the sound of toddler freaking out is destroying my brain.

howdy all. blurf. is it Firday yet?

Rosie’s sig

for what it is worth I vote giant chalice MOOOMMMMM

Hope TomKitten is asleep in the meantime, LiLi.

Long day. Tired. Low on verbs.

Hugs.

GT

It is for me…

Blurf.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 75 Amurrkin and muggy as all get out! The predicted high is 96 with yet another chance of rain which has not happened as of yet. :dubious:

Today is my Firday too BBBobbio. YAY!!! Course I’ll spend tomorrow doin’ things such as mowin’ da yahd and spiffin’ da cave but still… it ain’t at irk so that counts as sump’n.

Now I shall seek more caffiene and brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then I must purtify for irk which I am already ready to be over.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Oooh FCM, yeah, peacocks are…interesting. One of my friends lives in a development that backs up to a farm. The farmer has been quite experimental - I think he had llamas for a while - and had peacocks for about a year. They used to escape and wind up in various people’s gardens. They were NOT popular. Farmer only has cows now, AFAIK.

Also, I love swampy’s idea of your picture on the chalice.

Guess I’ll get up now… It’s not quite my Firday. I’m going in tomorrow morning, but leaving at lunch.

Hugs all.

Mildly rude shock this morning: the calendar tone on my phone rang for an opthamologist appointment I made a year ago, and I had forgotten about since. I called to cancel, and the droid at the desk tried to guilt trip me into keeping the appointment. After telling them I moved to MD, I meet my new PCP tomorrow, and a new optho is on my medical short list, she relented.

Today is surprise inventory day at work, or at least, it’s a surprise for me.

Whatever company we’ve hired needs to work on their attractive man ratio. It’s not worth having these particular ones be directly in my way for the next 4 hours.

TomKitten went to sleep, but was awake between 11-2 in the morning. Today is another totally fried day.

Toimorrow is Canada Day! Long weekend! Yay!

We had a little surprise bday celebration at irk today. The bday boy’s favorite cake is red velvet so we had some very nummy but very rich red velvet cupcakes. I’m havin’ a sugar rush. Good thing it’s Firday for me.

Blurf. Looking forward to the long weekend, although I’m driving three hours to go to a birthday party on Saturday and I haven’t finished her gift.

hmmmmm, I like the idea of a chalice with me on it. And instead of spelling out KNIGHTS, I can spell out my name with equally bad word placement. Excellent plan. And incorporate that into the shrine.

The ceremony to day was blessedly short and sweet - about 45 minutes start to end. The speeches were short and I zoned out since none of it really applies to me, since I’ll be gone. What really cracked me up, after all the to-do about proper dress code - suits and ties for men, dresses or pantsuits for women (I just work slacks and a twinset) - up in front of the entire audience stood the interpreter for the deaf… in a polo shirt. Guess he didn’t get the memo.

The rest of the day was boring. Tomorrow will be, too, but just for 4 hours. I’m making a short day of it. Yay!

Gotta load the fridge on the trailer tonight so I can deliver it to coworker in the morning. And I need to run a load of whites in the wash as **FCD **is almost out of unders. Fun night ahead!

Certainly not any sort of relief coming for me at the end of the day, MY weekend doesn’t start until Saturday. Kids and your 4-day workweeks. Get off my lawn.

Then I head home and get ready for fake job interview #2. I have a feeling that since this one is in person, I better hope I charmed the shit out of them on the phone; I don’t feel like a young male with a shaved head and various piercings screams “hire me!”. I might take the funny cartilage piercings out, ear lobes would be pointless, as it’s pretty obvious when someone has a 1/2" hole for you to stare through.

What is everyone doing for July 4th? I’m just going to hang out in the garden and stare forlornly at the unripe watermelons.
