Here’s another one that just popped back into my mind - the attempt by the Bush Admin and Fox News to rebrand suicide bombers as “homicide bombers”.
That was particularly stupid - they replaced a perfectly fine and useful term with one that contained less information.

In the case of Herschel Walker, I’ll be charitable and attribute his shortcomings in thinking logically to years of playing football and the lack of complete protection that helmets provide. Perhaps he’d be viewed as brilliant if he hadn’t bumped his head playing football.
