I guess I’m in the minority by siding with the pancake platoon, but a perfectly made pancake-- that is, very slightly crispy around the edges but fluffy and not too dense in the middle-- is the best breakfast known to man.
My preference for waffles over French toast is grounded in the restriction of toppings: French toast deserves whipped cream and is wanting without it.
I voted French toast, but this post made me remember the amazing corn meal waffles I had at a place in the Twin Cities several years ago. No chicken, just butter and syrup. Excellent.
