Seems like a pedophile might feel if redemption and forgiveness are impossible there’s no reason not to offend.
Do you mean that in the “I do not believe in God” sense, or the “I do not believe in anything supernatural” sense?
The former, that being what atheism is defined as. For the supernatural, I keep an open mind (after all electricity was supernatural not that long ago).
Shodan - could you explain why being a Satanist/Vampire in some way mean that I can’t have the moral high ground? This has been implied by others but you’ve come out and said it, so would you care to back it up? Is there anything I’ve said in this thread, or elsewhere, that indicates my sense of morality is in some way defective or absent?
I’m curious if Friar Ted and/or Dio has been molested when they were kids or know of kids (family and/or friends) who have been molested by adults (when they were kids). It could explain a lot.
Even people who were molested are capable of forgiving pedophiles and plenty of those who weren’t are not. It has nothing to do with anything.
No, I probably can’t explain it, at least to you.
Anyone who would post this -
in the midst of a thread he started Pitting FriarTed for his religion is not likely even to be aware of contradictions and hypocrisy in their own positions, let alone admit them.
Add to that your proactive use of the “no true Scotsman” argument in disavowing any contradictions between your religion and behavior, the while attacking what you believe is a contradiction between FriarTed’s religion and behavior, and you have a poster whose positions are better mocked than taken seriously.
Suck on that, Dracula.

Shodan
Oh no, I have lost the blessing of Shodan - I am forever lost…
That’s definitely my favorite part.
The last guy who disagreed with me was a guy standing on a corner in DC preaching some evil stuff (evil because it wasn’t my specific flavor of Christianity, which is the only correct view, donchaknow). He said Jesus wanted me to give him $100. I told him I didn’t have the money on me and even if I did, I wouldn’t give it to him. He said, “The Good Lord told me that you definately have the money and He wants you to put $100 in the offering plate!” I punched him in the balls and kicked him to the ground. I beat him mercilessly in full view of everyone around. Then I pulled out my switchblade and slit his throat. I paid a nearby homeless person $5 for his sign, wrote on the back, “I disagreed with a Christian” and left it laying on his chest.
That’ll teach him to argue with God’s children.
No worries, I believe Corey Haim and Keifer Sutherland can help you…
I’m not sure I have a dog in this fight.
But I gotta say, if I managed to concede arguments to both Diogenes and Shodan (no offense to either of them, BTW) within the space of 30 or so posts AND totally bungle my pitting so badly that people are coming in to laugh me, maybe it’s time to put down the crack pipe.
You might also want to think twice about “defending yourself” by linking to laughable “Vampire” sites which look like a vampire-flavored retooling of the Landover Baptist Church. Seriously, you’d be better off preaching the word of Zombo.com.
Although, for entertainment value, maybe you should stick around. Maybe Wildest Bill will come back and you can lose an argument to him, too.
I have never seen a mainstream interpretation of that passage as being a prohibition against judging, just that it’s warning you to be aware that your own standards will come into play when you yourself are being judged.
IlluminatiPrimus Lighten up, you start a pit thread and you yourself are going to get pitted. I made fun of both by comparing the blood drinking.
It’s not like you made a post that was brilliant and insightful, you made an argument that is made all the time and then claimed unreasonably that Christians get a pass for this behavior, when that is hardly the case.
There is an argument to be made for both sides. There is merit in your position, in that you are not a hypocrite, whereas there is merit in the other position, that it’s better to be a hypocrite than to have low but easily meetable standards.
Personally, I’d like to see an “Ask The Vampire” thread come out of all of this.
Nah, for the last one he said he was prohibited from answering our questions. And as a result, the only way to get knowledge was to shell out 20 bucks for a roughly 20 paged pamphlet.

If the answers are anything like those over at vampiretemple.com, no you don’t.
It works like this - someone bites you on the carotid, and you become one of the Undead. Then you go out and bite others, and they become Undead too. The beauty of it is, you get 10% of the souls of everyone they bite!
Think of it as Amway with hemoglobin.

I didn’t ask about their capabilities to forgive, I asked whether or not they personally know someone who has been molested. That is a very legitimate question.
If they have, then you can ask them if they forgave them.
You said it would “explain a lot”. Presumably you meant their animosity toward pedophiles would be explained by personal experience. I’m saying that’s not accurate.
