It pisses me off that people think that opposing the war means that you support the suppression and murder of protesters in Iran. There is no evidence that decapitating the government is going to magically turn Iran into a nation where freedom of speech is allowed. When Khadafy was killed, did that turn Libya into a paradise of freedom? When Hussein was killed, did Iraq become a must visit destination? When Assad was ousted, did Syria become a replica of Sweden? How many trillions were spent ousting the Taliban from Afghanistan before DJT negotiated a surrender to them without even including the new Afghan government in the deal? Time after time after time the US has bankrupted itself in senseless wars, it needs to stop. Remember when every other week it seemed like the headline was “US kills ISIS second in command?” Didn’t fucking matter, another one simply takes his place. Do we think the Iranian Revolutionary Guard are going to say, “Gee, let’s let the US pick our next leader. Let’s undo the theocracy that we worked hard to establish.” Fuck no they aren’t going to say that. And how could we not fucking foresee the obvious move- bottle up the Strait of Hormuz and put the western economies at risk? We have a guy in the White House who is not only the evillest person the country has ever produced, he was dumb as a sack of hammers even before he went senile. Add to that a Secretary of Defense (not War) who is not only an alcoholic, he’s a blithering idiot. The situation could almost be tolerable if either of these chowerheads had the sense of an average chimpanzee and would fucking listen to people who know what the fuck they are talking about.
Save me the outrage over the thousands of Iranian protesters murdered by the regime. Most of those feigning interest in the genuine antebellum human suffering in Iran are the some sadists who cheered the execution of innocent US citizens in Minneapolis at the hands of the ICEstapo. I believe the faux outrage over Iranian treatment of protesters generally comes from people who normally show no regrets for human death and suffering as long as the “right” people (Muslims) are the ones suffering and dying.
It’s bullshit. It presumes that this war helps the Iranian people and hurts the regime. The first is fantasyland bullshit and the second is not even clear – deaths and all, the regime could well come out of this as the little country that successfully held off the greatest military in the history of the world.

I said a few days ago that MAGA media will eventually claim that the war was necessary to open the strait of Hormuz – i.e. swap the order of events. From trump’s rhetoric and the shifts I’ve seen on RW media, I think “eventually” is going to be “in a few days time”.
