This thread isn’t for discussing the war. It’s for Andy to build up a sense of rightful superiority sufficient to reach climax. That’s why it’s so sticky here. It’s best to just leave him to it; I’m happy to discuss my views on the war elsewhere.

In fairness to @Babale (and I can’t believe I am saying that), at least part of the venting here I think is because we’re all seeing people calling for war or making excuses for Israel on TV, and Babale and Wesley just happen to be the local representatives of that genocidal cult.
It still continues to shock me. Here in the UK, yes there are media figures excusing and appeasing everything Israel does, but there are at least as many voices calling it out. Whenever I watch American news, it doesn’t matter if it’s left or right, it’s all IDF all day.

Muslims are widely hated here. The Israelis are killing Muslims, which is what much of the American public want to see on as wide a scale as possible. And the rest are too afraid of being called terrorists, Muslims, “liberals” or whatever to call the genocide fans out on it.
What a large portion of the American population wants is to see all billion+ Muslims killed. Heck, on fiction sites I visit I’ve run across stories that are essentially long, gloating fantasies about the mass murder of the entire Islamic population in as brutal fashion as possible. Mass crucifixions, nuclear weapons, fire bombing, you name it. Generally they get removed when removed, but still; there’s a whole subculture of those people out there.
As a matter of law:
I’m not a laws of war expert but it’s my impression that just the threat to commit genocide is a war crime. Threatening to destroy a civilization is a war crime, whether or not you carry through. Not that the sort of people who support Trump care.

If an American administration is really too fucking dumb to be deterred from starting nuclear war by all the other reasons not to do it, but the prospect of declining stock market values is what gives them pause, well, we’ll take what we can get.
Even better than the stock market (and oil futures) reacting to the announcement, is when they react 15 minutes before the announcement when the insider traders make their plays.
