Steve Allen might.

Ok, maybe not. But the children of White House candidates have always been fair game. Anyone remember “Ma, Ma, Where’s My Pa?”

Well, she hasn’t finished high school. Does that qualify as a lack of education?

Why, if premarital sex is a huge social issue for conservatives, does Bristol get a pass? Because she’s Palin’s daughter?

So, are you saying that every woman who has an unplanned pregnancy is uneducated? That’s pretty extreme.

I guess you would have to ask a social conservative about that; obviously there are a lot of them on this board judging by how outraged they are by any mention of sexuality in the Palin family. Or at least the Palin women.

In terms of mainstream social conservatism I think the main reaction was that she had made a mistake by having premarital sex, but that is a forgivable thing, or sin, or however one refers to it. And the far more important thing is that the family chose to bring the baby to life, which was looked on as admirable.

I’m saying every woman who doesn’t understand birth control is uneducated. I appreciate that you’re conservative, and thus, not very smart, but please, try not to overstate what I said.

If a woman gets undesirably pregnant because birthcontrol fails she’s unfortunate. If a woman thinks abstinence is the best policy after she repeatedly fucks a 90 IQ highschool Hockey jock without birthcontrol, she’s pretty fucking ignorant to my eyes.

Remember it? I was kind way unborn to remember it. So were most of the folks in this forum.

Heard about it, yes!

Are you fucking serious?

Have you ever thought that a woman might think abstinence is the best policy * because * she repeatedly fucked a 90 IQ highschool Hockey jock without birthcontrol and she doen’t want others making her mistake?

That’s not ignorance, it’s advocating a policy which might spare others her own mistake. The only ignorance on display here is your own.

Did you even read your link? They weren’t attacking the child they were attacking Cleveland himself for fathering an illegitimate son.

Sorry, but you are incorrect. She’s a stupid whore that knows firsthand that abstinence only policy in ineffective. She’s pretty much arguing that the solution for the problem of teen pregnancy is to use the method that was utterly ineffective for her. She’s a hypocrite.

So please go engage in an act of solo sexual gratification. ← If that’s too harsh for the new pit rules, I apologize, just trying to get my point across.

Let me get this straight. If someone fails in their goal, falling off the abstinence wagon, drinking again after pledging to AA, and so on, their own personal failure precludes them from ever urging others to stick with the course, in fact the whole program is tainted, the Abstinence program pointless, AA completely worthless, etc.

That what you’re saying? As it happens I know someone who lapsed back into alcoholism after many years sober with AA. Fortunately he went back with the program and is now tireless in advocating AA and helping others that went though what he did.

Should I tell him from you that he’s a hypocrite, that his own fall from grace has set the mark of Cain on him as far as AA is concerned, and he has no business recommending it to others?

I’m sure he’ll give your thoughts on this the weight they deserve.

“Solo sexually gratifying like a motherfuck!”? No, that just won’t do.

I admit, go fuck yourself was a cogent argument, but in the end I was unpersuaded by his reasoning. It seemed a little off point, although I’m sure he had one. Somewhere.

And while we’re about it, Stephe, what’s with that “ACORNed into the Oval Office” remark? Are you seriously suggesting some vast conspiracy on the part of ACORN, like voter fraud, or something? Or, more likely, just slinging some shit you didn’t figure on getting called on?

Jeez, can we kill the “Bristol is a whore/slut” talk? Whatever her mom’s political leanings, I don’t think that having premarital sex automatically makes one a slut or whore. And the “hypocrisy” that some are pointing out - could it not simply be someone talking about their experience and encouraging folks to make better choices? Didn’t y’all have the drunk driver come and talk to you about how much it sucked to have to go through the court case, guilt, etc.?

I still think Palin is behaving like an idiot, dumping more manure on the fire, playing the offerandi card, etc. I still think the joke was unfunny but harmless, and that there’s no way that Letterman aimed the joke at the 14 year old, because it just doesn’t make any sense. But I don’t pay attention to what Bristol says, and unless she says something unforgivably stupid/racist/homophobic/insert socially unacceptable prejudice here, I will continue to not pay attention to what she has to say.

To her credit, she’s looking pretty good, considering she hasn’t uttered a word to the press. And I can see Palin taking offense, but making this the cornerstone of your most recent press junket - not a smart move. Funny that someone mentioned J. Danforth Quayle, because this is precisely the kind of thing he’d do.

One thing about the old school, evil-but-smart-as-fuck Atwater Republican Party: they knew Quayle was a loser, and took him out back Old Yeller style, and he was never heard from again. The new Republicans are attaching so much to Palin, and I don’t see a whole lot of daylight between her and ol’ Dan in the intellect and media relations department.

Alcoholism and abstinence aren’t the same thing. Abstinence isn’t a solution, it’s a fucking fairy story believed by Christians who think it’ll somehow work through magic space-dude’s auspices. Abstinence is less effective at preventing pregnancy than sex education. Abstinence is not a method of birth control. It creates situations where hormones take over and and caution is thrown to the wind and people get pregnant because they haven’t given a though to birth control and ignore all other considerations because of the drive to mate.

And Bristol knows that, she’s just pretending that it’ll work for other people because it’s what her family and church want to hear. She is causing more unwed mothers by championing abstinence.

And your friend’s story is moving. Tell him I’ll buy him a diet pepsi if I ever meet him.

Hear, hear. As blitheringly stupid as some of the content of this thread is, y’all who have been calling her “Brisket” and “whore”, “slut”, etc. are doing yourselves no favors. It certainly seems as though you are using these slurs purely to get a rise out people.

FTR, I never cluck at anyone for having unintentionally gotten pregnant, and find it rather 19th-century to do so. Even if I happened to think that pushing abstinence-only is bad policy, the incessant name-calling on display here is just juvenile.

So stop it, or I’ll hold my breath until I turn blue.

Are you saying a conservative can’t be very smart?

You can not be that stupid. calling Clintons kid a dog was just mean spirited and nasty. There was no humor involved at all. It was just mean. Perhaps you thought that was funny. That just reveals you.
I was going to explain the distinction with Palin and Letterman but it apparently is beyond you.

So you thought calling a fourteen year old a whore was funny? And that says something about me?

Upon reflection, any sentence beginning “gonzomax thought” has to be wrong.

Shodan
