Fuck David Letterman and all misogynistic leftists who support him on this

I rest my case.

I prefer the other Republican slogan of 1884: “The trumpet sounds the blast again, and this shall be our slogan: Hurrah for James G. Blaine of Maine, and Honest John A. Logan!” :stuck_out_tongue:

I think your interpreting an obvious joke an an 18 year old’s expense as against her 14 year old sister is funny. Stupid.

You’re either for us or you’re against us! Rawr!

Is there any room for “don’t give a fuck” in there?

Lobohan, we’re not talking about the efficacy of these programs (as it happens I don’t believe that preaching abstinence to teenagers will work either), we’re talking about the fact that failure in any of them does not by and of itself make a person a hypocrite for advocacy of those programs in future.

Bristol may very well not believe in what she’s doing, but it’s that lack of belief that would label her a hypocrite, not the fact that she had a teenage pregnancy. Calling her a whore and hypocrite for the pregnancy alone smacks of puritanism rather than liberalism.

People like Palin a whole lot more than they liked Quayle. About half the country would deny your assertions that she’s a goofy, unintelligent loser, where almost nobody would have denied the same about Quayle.

She’s advocating a policy that will put more people in her situation. Becoming an AA advocate doesn’t make more people turn to alcohol.

The fact that she ignored the teaching of abstinence training and was thus unprepared for when a sexual situation came up would make a thinking person realize that the policy was flawed and if anything they should be marching against it. But instead she tries to drive more children into her shoes as unwed mothers. Buy mobile home stock, I’m sensing a boom.

As for her being a whore or slut, the whole 90 IQ, vapid jock penis addiction is the only evidence point I have for that. I’m open to other evidence as it may present itself.

You don’t quite get this, do you?

That’s what you believe. The fact that she’s advocating a policy which you think ineffective does not make her a hypocrite. It’s her beliefs or lack of them that would make her one, not yours.

Yup you’re right.

It’s funny how people will jump to defend Obama even when it’s indefensible. I mean ‘wreck havoc’ is a big yawner of a gripe, and **Stephe **is kind of an idiot if he’s waited until NOW to be embarassed by our President because he’s stupid. But trying to say that anyone ever says, “Wreck Havoc”, is stupid.

I don’t think it’s strange at all that pals-around-with-terrorists-Palin, who is such a master on innuendo, would not only choose to misiterpret Letterman’s comments, but then to direct the same thing back at him by saying he was referring to rape and calling him a pervert. She can dish it out, but sure can’t take it! She is a one trick pony and I would hate to be one her kids as she certainly does stuff like that to them. Growing up in her house must be torture.

No one misinterpreted Letterman’s comments. Letterman failed his joke. His joke was at the daughter that Sarah Palin took to the game, not at Bristol who wasn’t at the game. It was a poorly constructed joke.

I’d hate it if someone talked about my daughter like that for doing nothing more than going to a baseball game.

This is kind of funny though, in the way that it shows how stupid people blinded by partisanship will go after the person who is correct, and will defend the guy who was wrong. Anyone insulting Palin here isn’t even arguing the point. Their words are merely fill-ins for “I hate Sarah Palin…lallalalalallalalalaa”

Any chance to hate on Sarah Palin that you get right? Even if she’s right and the other guy was wrong? Funny how Letterman even apologized for it and yet some imbeciles keep defending it.

That is not what happened. Are you OK. I am beginning to worry about you.
The fact that Palin is a loud religious nut ,who talks about god and thinks religion should have a larger place in society does not strike a cord to you. It was her daughter ,one brought up with all kinds of religion shoved down her throat, that got knocked up. She was screwing her religious little butt off. The younger daughter ,as far as we know, is not fogging up the windows of her friends back seat yet. Apparently she took that daughter to the football game. Letterman made a mistake about that. The joke however was not meant to refer to the young one. You do know that ,don’t you?
A lot of humor is about discord. Things that seem right ,come out wrong. Like the old Catholic girls are easy idea. The contradiction between Palins loud and ignorant religious talk and what actually happens in her own home is fertile ground for humor.

There is no question that abstinence works. Where she went wrong was in not applying it. There is also no question that birth control works, unless one fails in applying it. So the fact that she ignored the teachings of abstinence makes abstinence no more inadequate than ignoring the need for condoms or birth control pills makes makes them inadequate.

And give me a break with this hypocrisy bullshit! Do you think Kirstie Alley and Valerie Bertinelli are hypocrites for promoting Jenny Craig diets? Do you think alcoholics are being hypocrites for warning of the dangers of drink? Do you think seatbeltless accident victims are hypocrites for warning people to wear seatbelts?

Claiming that Bristol is a hypocrite is nothing but a smokescreen whose purpose is to provide an excuse for a bunch of small-minded, intolerant and mean-spirited lefties to wallow in the public humiliation of a woman and her young daughter simply because they are Republicans.

It’s “chord”, a baseball game, and the comma goes after the word and followed by a space (like the one between Palin’s ears).

I know it’s beyond trivial, but three more pages without mention that this was provided in post 323?

Oh, come now! “Simply because they are Republicans”? What twaddle! Does Letterman mock you? No, because outside of The Elite, nobody knows who the hell you are. She is a target because of her notoriety, a notoriety she has pursued relentlessly.

She is an ignorant hick with a wildly exaggerated sense of her own significance and worth. To paraphrase The Master, its not what she doesn’t know that worries me, its what she knows for sure that just ain’t so.

We are a rude and rambunctious nation, and our sins are many. But nothing we have done would deserve having this self-righteous twit (“twit” mind you, a word carefully selected over its closest kin…) in a position of power. She is born of the same pit of popular ignorance as Huey Long. She stands as a reminder to us all that democracy is a very dangerous experiment, in that it depends on the intelligence and wisdom of its citizens.

One is left to wonder then why it isn’t her politics that come under attack, rather than her children.

And there’s on question that teaching abstinence only doesn’t.

Last time I checked, Jenny Craig worked for them. Abstinence-only attitudinizing didn’t for Bristol.

She’s not advocating “wear your seatbelt; I didn’t”; she’s advocating “Don’t sweat the seatbelts, just drive safely; maybe things’ll turn out better for you than for me.”

Why, bless your heart, she doesn’t have politics, she has a mish-mash of half-baked notions and unexamined platitudes! That this is conservative and/or reactionary drivel is all that makes her “Republican”, she would run on the “Hello, Kitty” platform as easily. She is the darling of those “Republicans” (quote marks in honor of Barry Goldwater, whom I admired) who seek to enlist a dark and bitter populism to their cause, “Republicans” who have no principles to uphold, save re-election.

Letterman didn’t track her children down and thrust them into the spotlight, they are already in the spotlight because their Mom put them there.

(I am reminded of a story about Nelson Mandela’s daughter, who reflected that she felt bad about it, but she had often wished he had been her father rather than father to the country.)

Muslim is a race now? When did that happen?
