I have seen some extended interviews of Biden. He is very smart. He tends toward malapropisms ,but he is still very smart.
Bush was a joke. he could not defend his positions. He was an embarrassment . A spoiled rich kid who always got what he wanted in spite of his lack of talent and intelligence.

Better answer than mine, but similar. I also have 2 daughters. The daughter barely even figured in the joke. He named Sarah and a-Rod in the joke. It was a lazy joke, 2 public figures intersected so they threw together something to take advantage of that - et voila - lame joke.

Reading those, it looks more to me like the Letterman incident was a bunch of manufactured outrage intended to keep Palin in the news. The ones in that list talking about Palin’s daughters were at a time when Palin was already in the news for one reason or another.
It shows he’s smarter than someone who thinks that while looking at Sarah Palin, and hence is a better choice.
Which, really, only puts him a full step above cottage cheese.
