I just don’t understand how the sort of immature, bullying behaviour shown by Don jr in the above example, and almost constantly by Trump & co, didn’t turn off a lot more voters. Everything they did showed a total absence of substance, a plethora of bullshit sound-good promises, delivered via childish name-calling etc.

I had been trying not to think of the voting results, but it just dawned on me that a Lot of voters voted for a rapist.

Agree in general, but I’d say on Ukraine specifically, the only people who can give MAGA a lesson in gaslighting are the Kremlin.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve met people here in England but also around Europe (I travel a lot) who plainly know little to nothing about geopolitics, but have somehow heard and believed Russian talking points.
Today for example I was getting a haircut, and the hairdresser (who had started by saying he had no interest in politics) was lecturing me on how most of the soldiers fighting are American; and they just put on Ukraine uniforms. Because yeah that’s a risk-reward that makes perfect sense.
I hear these things all the time.
Anyway, all this to say that I think MAGA can get away with saying anything about Zelensky at this point. People who are pro-Ukraine are somewhat weary at this point. And the rest have probably been sucked in by the propaganda.
One small consolation.
69 percent of atheists vote Democrat, while only 15 percent vote Republican.
Don’t forget they also voted for a traitor to lead the very government he tried to overthrow.
And don’t forget they also voted for a convicted felon as the candidate from the law and order party.
